Wednesday, June 27th
Happy Wednesday! We’ve got an 11-game slate tonight with very little pitching to go around. We’ve also got some weather concerns, most notably in Baltimore and New York, so keep an eye on the Roth report this afternoon.
WEDNESDAY NIGHT PITCHING
This is a tough night to feel good about pitching, at least we’ve got a couple guys that used to be aces, so there’s a glimmer of hope.
TWO LEFTIES FROM THE PAST
Madison Bumgarner vs Colorado – Bumgarner is the highest priced pitcher on all sites tonight after posting his first good start last time out. The best sign to me is not just the strong start last week, but the fact that he’s been up over 100 pitches in two straight starts. Even if Bumgarner is ‘back’, he’s still a dominant strikeout pitcher like other high end aces, so we need to be getting innings out of him to reach value. Of course, the eight-inning shutout with eight strikeouts was also a good sign, even at home against the Padres, that has to mean something.
