MLB DFS Lineup Advice Today

We return from the All-Star Break with an 11-game slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings. The first pitch for the slate is at 7:05 PM ET. We have a game in Coors Field, with the Giants visiting the Rockies, and also some top pitching options, with a number of teams turning to their best starter on the first day back from the break. As usual, the top sluggers are expensive, so we’ll have some decisions to make.

Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

The Giants are my top stack on the road in Coors Field. The visiting teams in Coors Field are often the priciest on any slate, but you can make an argument that with pOWN% spread out among 22 teams, they aren’t projecting for as much ownership as they should be. The Giants get one of the biggest ballpark upgrades possible for their hitters. They’re going from the park with the 2nd-worst park factor for hitters to the park with the best park factor, and they rank 11th in wOBA on the road this season. The Giants have the top implied run total by more than half a run, and the most expensive hitter on the team (Heliot Ramos) isn’t even in the top 20 of the most-expensive hitters on either site.

Jorge Soler is my top bat for the Giants. He is expected to lead off and carries a .197 ISO vs. RHP since the start of last season. Mike Yastrzemski is hitting down in the order but has a .226 ISO and .347 wOBA vs. RHP since the start of last season, while Matt Chapman has a career .214 ISO vs. RHP.
