MLB DFS Lineup Advice Today
We have a relatively small 5-game main slate on tap for Thursday evening, with the first pitch on both FanDuel and DraftKings at 6:40 PM ET. There are some rain concerns in 4 of the 5 games, although everything looks like a go as of early afternoon. However, be sure to check out Kevin Roth’s MLB Weather analysis. Even though the slate is smaller, we still have some top offenses and high-strikeout pitchers on the mound, so we’re not limited in our options.
Let’s sort through the slate and figure out what to do with our DFS lineups.

STACKS
Top Overall Stack: Kansas City Royals
Implied Run Total: 4.65 (4th)
Projected Total Ownership: 113% (FD) / 129% (DK)
The Royals are my top overall stack. I expect them to be highly owned, but the matchup is excellent facing Detroit RHP Keider Montero. Montero has had a rough start to his major league career, allowing 10 HRs in his first 36.2 IP (2.45 HR/9). The sample size is small, but Montero has been torched by right-handed hitters so far in the majors, allowing a .677 SLG% and .437 wOBA. Although Montero racked up more strikeouts and allowed less power in Triple-A this season, his minor league numbers weren’t particularly inspiring, sporting a 13.4% BB% and 5.03 ERA in 13 Triple-A starts.
Bobby Witt Jr. is my top bat for the Royals tonight, as well as my top overall hitter on the slate. Witt is averaging 0.7 more fantasy points than any other hitter on the slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings, leading the slate in SLG% and wOBA and adding 24 SBs as well. Salvador Perez has a .201 ISO and .342 wOBA vs. RHP this season and fills the catcher position, while MJ Melendez is too cheap on both sites for his .233 ISO vs. RHP this year.
