MLB DFS - Million Dollar Musings - Monday, July 27th
Happy Monday, sort of, maybe. I had written about half the pitching section Sunday night, and it’s already out the window. As I’m writing this early in the morning, we’ve already learned that the Miami-Baltimore game has been cancelled due to a COVID outbreak among Marlins players. For now, I’ll just assume that the rest of this slate just goes on as normal, but this is a mess. We’ve also got weather concerns, but for now, I’m just writing this as if everything else plays.
OK, now it’s 9:30 and the Yankees-Phillies game is also cancelled. Let’s hope that’s it, and on we go…
Something we’re going to have to keep a close eye on this season is the timing that different sites use to start main slates. In past years, it’s almost always been 7:05pm ET. Because of the condensed schedule and the no fans, a lot of games are starting up to an hour earlier than usual. The DFS sites are going to have to pick and choose which games to include, and it may well be different every night. Tonight, we’re going to have FanDuel starting first at 6:05 ET with an 8-game slate, followed by DraftKings starting at 6:40pm ET with a 7-game slate.
