MLB DFS - Million Dollar Musings - Tuesday, August 11th

Happy Tuesday! While we’ve got a couple more good pitchers on the mound, tonight’s slate looks similar to what we saw yesterday with a lot of offense spread around. Half of the teams who played yesterday scored at least seven runs, with five hitting double digits. We add a couple more hitters parks back into the equation tonight, so bats are going to be the main characters in this show. But we do have a short list of good pitchers to get to first, headlined by the return of Max Scherzer.

Yes… the water torpedo toys! Good Memories! Strategy question (FD – Format 25 Entry Max under 10k entrants). Do you typically try and force 4/4 hitter stacks or maybe 4/2/2? I tend to see the top winners with these types of stacks and I understand the correlation, but when you have multiple hitting opportunities across the board, I’m never sure if I should mix and match and chase home runs or target the top stacks and hope for the run multiplier? Just curious as you provided great insight last time I asked a strategy question.

I don’t always force a second 4-man stack. In something like a 25-max entry, I’ll have a core group of stacks to build around, and will let the salaries dictate if I’m double stacking or not. If I have the opportunity to fit in elite bats like Trout, Judge, etc instead of stacking a clearly inferior secondary stack, I still prefer to go that way. I would say I have more 4-4 on FD than not, but plenty of 4-2-2-, or 4-2-1-1 to get those few high end individual bats that I want.

Just curious, why is your top 5 stacks here so far off from the expert survey answer? For example, Arizona going from 5 to 1 (or 1 to 5, whichever was written first).

my top five on the survey is more of a mix between the two lists. knowing some people will only read the survey, i list Arizona first since they are the top overall stack. it’s only when we start getting sneaky with ownership that they move down.
