MLB DFS - Million Dollar Musings - Wednesday, September 9th
Happy Wednesday! This looks like an interesting 9-game slate, where we’ve got three clear aces all alone up top, but priced accordingly. Then the offense is spread out fairly evenly across the rest of the slate. The expensive bats will only be reachable by foregoing one of the aces, which seems like a scary proposition, but let’s dive in and see what we find.
Wednesday Night Pitching
THREE ACES

Yu Darvish vs Reds
Trevor Bauer at Cubs
Clayton Kershaw at Diamondbacks
The skill set gap between these three and everybody else on this slate is tremendous. Some days, we get a case where the most expensive, most recognizable pitchers aren’t really that much better than everyone else. That is not the case tonight.
All three of Darvish, Bauer and Kershaw have strikeout rates above 30% with walk rates below 8%, and in the case of Darvish and Kershaw, both below 5%. Their 2020 ERA’s currently sit at 1.44, 1.50 and 2.05, with SIERA’s of 2.85, 2.93 and 3.08. Among all starting pitchers in MLB, those SIERA’s put all three of these guys in the top seven overall.
