Covering The Bases: MLB DFS Picks Today for Monday 6/15

Long-time grinder Justin Van Zuiden (aka stlcardinals84) is here to cover the bases for the upcoming MLB DFS slate on DraftKings and FanDuel. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Justin has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his favorite MLB DFS picks today on June 15, 2026.
Happy Monday, MLB Grinders! Cheese and I have swapped some days around, and I appreciate him covering for me yesterday on my birthday. You’ll have me doing the write-ups for today and tomorrow, and it should be a fun couple of days! This Monday brings us a solid 8-game slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings, and the slates match up between the sites tonight. There are a couple of games that start earlier than the usual 7:10 PM ET lock time, but both sites are excluding those games from their main slates.
There’s nothing but sunshine and domed stadiums on the forecast today, so everything should be clear on the MLB weather front this evening. Let’s dig in and see what this slate has to offer for MLB DFS picks!
Monday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

IT’S LONELY AT THE TOP
- Chase Burns vs Mets
Well, folks, we are not exactly starting this off with a bang. There is only one pitcher priced above $8,500 on DK, and it’s Chase Burns for $2,500 more than that. The salary scale is a little more balanced on FD, where, for some reason, Troy Melton is $10,300 (don’t use him), but Shota Imanaga at $10,000 is “only” $1,100 less than Burns over there.
However you want to slice it, Burns is the top arm on this slate by a healthy margin. His ERA sits at 2.14, his xERA is 2.95, and his xFIP and SIERA are in the low 3s. His strikeout rate is close to 30% for the season, and it is supported by a swinging-strike rate that is just above 15%. The skill set is fantastic, and he’s still learning how to pitch at the MLB level. The Reds give him as much pitch count leash as he needs basically every time out because Cincinnati’s bullpen is so poor that a tired Burns is often better than any other option.
Burns also benefits from a great matchup. The Mets are just flailing their way through the season, and they rank 28th in team wOBA and 23rd in team ISO against RHP this year. They also have one of the lowest team walk rates. It’s just an average matchup for strikeouts, but that’s really the only blemish on the matchup card.
I do not think Burns is on the level of a Jacob Misiorowski “you have to play him 100%” type of arm, but he’s clearly the best pitcher we have tonight. I’d be hard pressed to go elsewhere in cash games, and I want to be overweight in tournament builds as well. However, there is potential merit to looking at pivots in tournaments if you are wanting to spend up on bats.
We’ll look at those options next.
