Happy Sunday, Grinders! We have the usual Sunday slate on tap for us today, with eight games available on the main slate on DraftKings and nine available on FanDuel. The latter has added the OAK/COL game at Coors Field. It’s another weird Sunday slate, as there’s really not a whole lot to get excited about. The bats are pretty much going to be “the Braves and everyone else,” while there really isn’t much to get excited about for other offenses. The pitching is just OK. There’s a bunch of “average” spots on this slate… but there’s still money to be won!

Top Tier Pitching
Jesus Luzardo vs. Tigers
Justin Verlander vs. Nationals
It’s a quiet top tier of pitching today, so we just don’t have much to choose from. The good news is that the two options that we do have available both have strong run prevention matchups. Here’s a look at the 2023 data:
Luzardo – 3.22 ERA, 3.44 xFIP, 29% K, 7% BB
Verlander – 3.24 ERA, 4.54 xFIP, 21% K, 8% BB
They may have nearly identical surface ERA numbers, but that’s about where the similarities end with Jesus Luzardo and Justin Verlander these days. Luzardo is an up and coming ace, while Verlander is on the tail end of his career. The strikeouts just aren’t there for Verlander anymore, while Luzardo has a massive strikeout rate and a very healthy 14.5% swinging strike rate.
