MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, June 10
Who is your favorite pitcher for large-field tournaments?
squirrelpatrol: Spencer Arrighetti
headChopper: Chris Paddack
ebeimfohr: Erick Fedde
eys819: Erick Fedde
Who is your top overall hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
squirrelpatrol: Aaron Judge – A few weeks ago, I started answering this question “Aaron Judge” every time he’s on the slate. I don’t regret the lack of creativity. Judge has been scorching hot in June with a 1.192 SLG% and .654 ISO, substantial improvements over the .918 SLG% and .557 ISO he had in May. Judge is on the road in Kansas City, a park that has the 3rd-best park factor for hitters over the last 3 years according to MLB park factors.
headChopper: Yordan Alvarez – This season (and actually not an outlier), Yordan has a higher hard-hit rate vs. left-handed pitching than right-handed pitching (40.8% to 35%). The lefty-on-lefty matchup has never been a detriment; it just drives down his ownership because people are scared to play that angle. One of the significant concerns for Kyle Harrison is his susceptibility to home runs, with a 1.37 HR/9 rate in Triple-A last season. This is a trend that has carried over to his major league career. After a sluggish start that wasn’t up to the Yordan standards, he is starting to heat up.
ebeimfohr: Aaron Judge – It appears Juan Soto is back, and that should help Judge with some protection via runners on in front of him. Judge is posting essentially peak Barry Bonds numbers right now, lapping the field in basically every hitting metric imaginable. Seth Lugo is a quality pitcher, but he’s not scaring me away from a low-pOWN% Judge.
eys819: Yordan Alvarez – He is still a tick below the elite pricing tier thanks to a slow start this season, but Yordan has proven to still be one of the best hitters in baseball. He gets a matchup against a lefty and a ballpark downgrade going to San Francisco, but those things will only suppress his ownership. Yordan is up to a .191 ISO versus lefties this season, and he owns a .255 ISO against them in his career.
