MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Monday, September 23
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
SquirrelPatrol: Corbin Carroll
headChopper: Corbin Carroll
ebeimfohr: Corbin Carroll
TheLuuch: Corbin Carroll
Who is your favorite hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
SquirrelPatrol: Yordan Alvarez – Alvarez is in an excellent spot with the platoon advantage against RHP Bryce Miller. Yordan has a .260 ISO and .387 wOBA vs. RHP this season, and Miller has allowed a SLG% over 100 points higher vs. lefties this season (.401 SLG%) compared to righties (.286 SLG%). Like most Mariners pitchers, Miller is also much less intimidating on the road (4.44 ERA) this season than at home (1.96 ERA).
headChopper: Corbin Carroll – There is just such a huge gap between the Diamondbacks matchup and the next-best matchup on the slate, so I’ll attack it with Carroll, who leads off, has some power, and draws walks (11.9% vs. RHP), which can lead to steals. Hayden Birdsong has some strikeout upside, but he also walks over 15% of the left-handed batters he faces, and with Carroll’s speed, this is great for our DFS lineups.

ebeimfohr: Triston Casas – Casas went nuts with 3 HRs yesterday, which may lead to a decent finish to the season for the injury-marred youngster. But this matchup is especially high upside, as Casas has been exceptional vs. RHP since the start of 2023 w/ a .364 xwOBA and .253 xISO. Chris Bassitt has been beat up by lefties, with a .379 xwOBA and .210 xISO, while striking out just 19% of them in 2024.
TheLuuch: Triston Casas – Why not go back to the guy who went nuclear yesterday? Maybe Casas is finally feeling better, and he’s in a great matchup vs. Chris Bassitt, who has given up 14 homers to lefties and has allowed a .300 BA this year. Bassitt throws a lot of sinkers to lefties, and Casas has a .545 xSLG against them this year after he recorded a solid .493 vs. sinkers last season.
