What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
stlcardinals84: I will be playing around 10 entries in the larger-field tournaments. I will be overweight on Logan Gilbert and Cam Schlittler as my top pitchers while also looking to the Cubs, Astros, and Rangers as my favorite stacks. I love mixing and matching those teams, and I will have a much narrower player pool than usual.
Krayton: I will be playing single-entry contests as well as 20-entry contests. I will be overweight on Cam Schlittler, and I will also be overweight on the Cubs and Rockies game in Coors Field. The Cubs will be highly owned, but looking at projections this morning, I don’t see the Rockies side carrying a lot of ownership. The Dodgers, Yankees, and Rangers will round out my core of teams I will be targeting.
tcsmith031: I generally prefer larger-field, multi-entry tournaments on Coors slates, as it’s typically easy enough to differentiate from the field with so much ownership concentrated on a couple of spots. I’ll still get some exposure to both the Cubs and Rockies, though I’m planning to be heavily underweight on what looks like a chalky Rangers offense in Sacramento. While it’s an advantageous spot with some cheap salaries, I’m skeptical that a Texas stack without Corey Seager or Marcus Semien has enough talent to warrant the significant ownership they’re projected to draw. I’ll probably set a 3-hitter maximum from the Rangers and limit my overall exposure.

About the Author

Robert Brown (aka Epignosis) was having lunch at a sports bar. A football game was on. He remarked to his wife that if he could have a second life, he’d like to be someone who enjoyed watching sports. That enjoyment began when he signed up for a fantasy football league that needed one more player. Since then, he has enjoyed playing NFL, NBA, and (especially) MLB DFS. When not teaching American literature, editing content for RotoGrinders (which he has done since 2019), or making lineups, Epignosis is rocking out or jazzing it up on one of several possible instruments.
