MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, August 13
Who is your favorite hitter to spend up for in cash games?
headChopper: Wilyer Abreu
stevietpfl: Miguel Vargas
Notorious: Miguel Vargas
What is your preferred tournament format (e.g. large-field, single-entry) to play on this slate? How do you plan to beat that field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
headChopper: I like this slate for large-field tournaments that have multiple entries. Even though it’s a small 6-game slate, there are several teams I think can put up a tournament-winning score as a stack. I’ll be overweight on Cubs and Red Sox stacks, and I prefer using a 4-man or 5-man stack (depending on the site) and then filling out the rest of my lineup with one-offs. I’ll also be overweight on Max Fried and Payton Tolle at pitcher.
stevietpfl: I’m going to focus on small-field tournaments. I like multiple pitchers, but I think there are a limited number of stacks. I’ll build 3-5 lineups built around Logan Gilbert, Max Fried, Parker Messick, and Payton Tolle. With the limited number of stacks I like, I’m going to focus more on builds with smaller stacks. I want to focus on 3-3-2 type of stacks in most of my lineups. I want a full Red Sox stack as well.
Notorious: I prefer small-field tournaments. I will naturally be a little different at pitcher, since my favorite two point-per-dollar options are Max Fried and Keider Montero. This is a rare slate where I’m not looking to fully stack an offense. I’m going to have a mix of batters from the Red Sox, White Sox, Pirates, and Reds.
Who is your favorite pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
