MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Opening Day
Who is your top overall hitter (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
CheeseIsGood: Jake Burger – Anything other than a Diamondbacks, Dodgers, Yankees, or Astros bat should be somewhat different tonight. I don’t think Miami is exactly sneaky, but I don’t think we’ll see a ton of ownership on one-off bats here. With Martin Perez no longer being a guy who keeps the ball on the ground against righties, I want to attack him with power bats like Jake Burger and Josh Bell.
boggslite: Corbin Carroll – The only batter without a hit in last night’s 16-run outburst for Arizona, Carroll should get plenty of quality pitches to get things going tonight against a weak righty in Quantrill and a bad Rockies bullpen. Leading off with plenty of power behind him, Carroll’s speed is tailor-made for the spacious outfield of Chase Field, where singles turn into doubles and triples.
ebeimfohr: Corbin Carroll – Carroll is the perfect blend of power, speed, matchup, and environment. He’s one of the best young hitters in baseball, and he has some of the highest stolen base upside on the slate. Cal Quantrill gets absolutely no whiffs, so we know the ball is going in play, which can lead to big fantasy scores for a player like Carroll.
Alex Sonty: Aaron Judge – This is probably the best hitter in baseball when healthy. His 21.7% career barrel rate is the only one over 20% in the Statcast Era, and he hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down at age 31. Cristian Javier struggles to stay out of trouble. He had 3.44 BB/9 in 2023, allowing a 9.4% barrel rate along the way and the lowest GB:FB ratio on the slate (0.46).
