MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, September 1

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: Even before accounting for pOWN% or salary, Toronto is not at the top of my list, making for an easy underweight stance for me on the Blue Jays. I’ll be most focused on the Red Sox and Orioles and then spreading out quite far with cheaper stacks. On the pitching side, there are so many good pitchers that it seems very likely we see a couple big scores that you need to have. This makes me prioritize spending up at pitcher to the $10K + group, where I have Max Scherzer, Zack Wheeler, and Freddy Peralta as my favorites.

STLCardinals84: I want to spend up on bats, so I will be focusing on cheaper pitching options more than the field in GPP builds. That means getting a bit uncomfortable with exposure to the likes of James Paxton, Patrick Sandoval, and JP Sears, who I will have plenty of GPP exposure to in order to fit stacks of teams like the Blue Jays, Red Sox, and Orioles.

tcsmith031: Even on a slate with plenty of aces, I’ll likely forego most of them in favor of the cheaper options. JP Sears, James Paxton, and Patrick Sandoval are three that stand out right away, as they’re all facing weak offenses in pitcher-friendly parks. That’ll make it easy to afford the more expensive high-end stacks, like the Blue Jays, Red Sox, Orioles, and Braves.

TastefulTides: I’ll be overweight Max Scherzer and Patrick Sandoval in single-entry and 3-max contests. I have no problem with Sandoval on FD as well. I like Toronto just like the field will. If looking to get contrarian, the Orioles look like they will be extremely low-owned on both sites, and they are in a fantastic spot against Zach Davies.

TJ Zwarych: With so many expensive bats I’d love to pay up for, I’ll be significantly overweight on a quadrant of cheaper pitchers. James Paxton, Patrick Sandoval, JP Sears, and Touki Toussaint all have strikeout upside and come at a significant discount from the other top options. I do still want to get to some Max Scherzer, but the mid and cheaper tier pitchers will be my bread and butter.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
