MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Friday, September 22

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I’m going to keep a tight pitcher pool with mostly just Pablo Lopez and Chris Sale on FD, and adding in cheaper options with Sawyer Gipson-Long and all the way down to Davis Daniel on DK. I see a lot of fantastic high-upside bats, most of whom are also in popular stacks. The best way I see to get different is to play those spend-up bats on their own and not try to jam in full stacks of the expensive teams like the Braves, Dodgers, Phillies, Red Sox, Padres, etc. I’ll certainly have my share of those teams, but I will have more lineups with mini-stacks of the spend-ups from those teams.

STLCardinals84: The navigation of this slate is a little bit strange. If we back up a few weeks, Brandon Pfaadt was getting a ton of buzz as an affordable pitching option. Now, we fast forward a week, and it seems like everyone wants to play the affordable Yankees bats against him. I really don’t get it. He’s coming off a strong start against the Cubs where he did not allow a run with six strikeouts 5 1/3 innings. The Diamondbacks are still playing for a postseason spot. The Yankees are playing for a spot on the golf course in 10 days. I will be underweight on the NYY value bats, and I will be overweight on Pfaadt on a thin pitching slate.

boggslite: With plenty of decent pitching options at different price points, my focus will be on building around my bats tonight. I want at least one of Lopez, Valdez, or Sale on two pitcher sites and I’m comfortable dropping down to Gipson-Long or even punting with Daniel without having to sacrifice a high-priced bat.

TastefulTides: Given how large the slate is there isn’t a ton I like at pitching. So going condensed at pitching and spreading out with stacks is where I will be looking to start my builds with. ATL is the clear number one stack and I will be getting to as many of them as I can. BOS offers really great value especially on FD facing the super wild Touki Toussant.

TJ Zwarych: With so many great bats on this slate I plan on going as cheap as I can with pitching. Chris Sale will likely be the “spend-up” I got to the most while mixing in a lot of Ken Waldichuk, Davis Daniel, Brandon Pfaadt and Sawyer Gipson-Long.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
