MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, August 31
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
eys819: A very expensive Spencer Strider is projecting as mega-chalk against the Dodgers. I feel ilke being underweight is the right approach despite approximately zero pivots we feel good about. I will just be holding my nose and clicking options like Joan Adon and Pedro Avila. This will allow me to spend up for multiple elite hitters that those playing Strider will not be able to reach.
fathalpert: It’s hard to get different on a small three-game slate, but this is the type of slate where I’d be open to setting a rule in LineupHQ where I have a maximum of 2 batters against my own pitcher. Lance Lynn could put up a score that’s optimal enough, but he could also cough up a homer or two in the process and having those batters in the same lineup may be optimal as well.
squirrelpatrol: With only three games to choose from and Spencer Strider on the mound, my lean is to go underweight Spencer Strider and in turn, overweight on the Dodgers expensive bats. I’m not sure I would play Spencer Strider if the sites gave me one less hitter in those lineups, but with Strider priced $2500 above the next-most expensive pitcher on FD and $3700 on DK, that’s close to the decision we have to make.
TheLuuch: Leaning toward not playing much Strider to focus on some of these lower-owned (if you can call it that), higher-priced bats. I don’t mind taking a shot on either Adon or Garrett for major salary relief either.
Dean78904: We’re looking at a three game slate so you know the drill – it is time to allow yourself to get goofy. Lean into the variance of baseball and throw the standard “rules” out the window. You absolutely don’t have to feel obligated to stack and you are definitely allowed to roster a hitter or two vs your pitcher. Yes, even if that pitcher is Spencer Strider.
