MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Thursday, September 14
How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?
eys819: We’re going to have to make a decision on Coors before MIN/CWS locks unless the weather has already made the decision for us. On a larger slate I wouldn’t even mess with it, but we have limited options today and not having exposure to Coors would be scary if the game plays. Pitching options are also limited, and I am likely to go overweight on Kyle Bradish rather than locking the chalky Kevin Gausman. I also like Clarke Schmidt over the more popular Kenta Maeda on DK.
fathalpert: If Roth suggests we avoid Coors Field (or that game gets postponed before lock), ownership is going to heavily flow towards Minnesota. I love the matchup and ballpark for Minnesota but worry about the extreme levels of chalk they will come in at. If we see projected ownership for them in the 25%-35% range, I’ll instead pivot to offenses in tougher matchups such as Baltimore, Texas, and Toronto. If I do play Twins bats, I’ll try to sprinkle in a bat or two from the bottom of the order to differentiate myself.
TheLuuch: Whenever Roth starts his weather analysis for a game with a “yikes,” he has my attention. I’ll hope we get to roster lock without any news on this Coors Field game, and I’ll most likely fade it and hope for a late PPD. There is merit behind doing the opposite in large-field tournaments though in that scenario.
Dean78904: We have a tiny slate with the most appealing offensive environment getting the dreaded Orange/Red tag from chief meteorologist Kevin Roth. Of course, SF/COL is also the latest game on the slate, so after 7:40 PM ET, you won’t have anywhere to pivot to if it goes sideways. It is possible this game gets postponed hours before lock, and this won’t be an issue. We’re in the legit dog days of the MLB season, so I assume those of you who are still reading/grinding know this, but just in case, a reminder that it is not recommended to play a one-off in a game with a high probability to be 86’d. Stack it up or stay away.
