MLB DFS Picks: DraftKings & FanDuel Expert Survey for Tuesday, September 12

How do you plan to beat the field of opponents? What tactic or strategy will set you apart?

CheeseIsGood: I am going to go underweight on Justin Verlander, hoping he is just good, and not great, leaning on the higher-strikeout aces, Freddy Peralta and Joe Ryan. I’m also fading Max Scherzer and going underweight on Bryan Woo, which should be different enough to make a difference. The Cubs are a clear enough top team that as long as I’m not playing heavy chalk pitchers, I won’t overthink it there. But after the Cubs, I’m spreading out pretty far, with a focus on the Mets, Padres, Mariners, and Giants.

stevietpfl: I play single-entry or three-entry max contests, and I hate playing chalky Coors stacks. With that said, I think the Cubs are worth eating the chalk against Chris Flexen. I’ll look for lower-owned one-offs or secondary stacks to pair with the Cubs. When paying up for pitching, I want to be overweight on Freddy Peralta. I expect Justin Verlander and Joe Ryan to be popular, and I think Peralta has the highest ceiling on the slate.

squirrelpatrol: The Cubs visiting Coors Field stand out as the best offense, but with 18 teams on the slate, I’ll likely aim to be under the field on them. Like a lot of Coors Field slates, I’ll be hoping that one of the other teams in a good spot can go off while the Cubs disappoint, and if I use the Cubs in a stack, I’ll be making sure it’s with a less-chalky secondary stack.

boggslite: As much as I want to pay up for the strikeout upside of Freddy Peralta and the relative safety of Justin Verlander, it won’t be easy, especially if you want to load up on bats. I will do my best to get one of the top SP options and take risks on some of the cheaper pitchers like Sean Manaea or Zack Littell, hoping BABIP goes in their favor.

Dean78904: Ownership schmownership. As someone who makes very few lineups, I’m just gonna play the Cubs. Of course I’m going to be conscious of what the rest of my lineup looks like when I’m loading up on Cubbies, but as things stand right now, I’m expecting to lean into the Chicago chalk.

Who is your top overall pitcher (when considering price, matchup, projected ownership, etc.) on the board and why?
