Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Monday 4/13

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to give you his musings on the April 13, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Monday! We kick off the week with a slate that is slightly different between the sites. DK is starting a little earlier than usual with a 9-game slate that begins at 5:35 PM ET. That will include an extra 3 games compared to the 6-game FD slate at the usual 7:05 PM ET start time.
The big news to keep an eye on throughout the day is the weather in Minnesota. Garrett Crochet is scheduled to pitch for the Red Sox, but there is a chance we could lose him either with a PPD or too strong of a delay risk. With the Red Sox bats also being a top-tier option, I’m not going to be finalizing any lineups until we get closer to lock and see how that game is looking. For now, I’m writing this as if that game is good to go.
Monday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

We have an interesting pitching slate, with three of the league’s best pitchers up top on the DK slate and then a risk/reward mid-tier with some upside. At first glance, I’m not sure how this is going to pan out, so let’s dive in and see what happens. I’m going to write this as if Garrett Crochet is safe to play, but we’ll have to reevaluate that closer to lock and know that he very well could end up being unplayable, which shakes everything up on this slate.
TOP TIER TRIO
- Garrett Crochet at Twins – 31.2% K, 5.6% BB, 2.63 ERA, 2.84 SIERA
- Paul Skenes vs. Nationals (DK) – 29% K, 6.1% BB, 2.16 ERA, 3.16 SIERA
- Cristopher Sanchez vs. Cubs (DK) – 26.8% K, 5.5% BB, 2.43 ERA, 2.96 SIERA
This top tier gets easier immediately on FD, where only Crochet is available, so I’m going to talk about this trio from a DK perspective. All three of these guys are elite aces and fully playable on any slate, in any matchup, at any salary.
The first thing I want to say is that terrible first start for Paul Skenes was clearly an outlier, but I also want to say that he still hasn’t been at the same DFS level as the other aces yet this season. Ignoring the first start, we find a completely acceptable 11:4 K:BB ratio with 2 runs allowed in 11 innings. That’s fine, and he has probably his best matchup of the season tonight, but I’m still not totally sure if he’s all the way back to mid-season form or what they are going to do with his pitch count. Washington is a good matchup for run prevention, but they’re not great for strikeouts. He’s an elite pitcher, and $9,500 is a more than fair salary. I’m just not sure if I like him or love him. Let’s move on and see.
