Million Dollar Musings: Monday, September 25
CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Monday! We are down to the final week of the regular season, where the shenanigans will be at the highest level. However, on this small 3-game slate tonight, we find ourselves with good pitchers in meaningful games. This should allow us at least one more day of non-nonsensical baseball.
On a 3-game MLB slate, everything is in play, but we’ll see if we can sort through the MLB DFS picks and find a few favorites.
Monday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
Pitching leads the way on this slate with four aces and a couple of decent cheaper arms.
Blake Snell at Giants – 31.7% K, 13.5% BB, 2.33 ERA, 4.08 SIERA
Luis Castillo vs. Astros – 27.3% K, 6.6% BB, 3.06 ERA, 3.70 SIERA
Justin Verlander at Mariners – 21.1% K, 6.6% BB, 3.44 ERA, 4.48 SIERA
Logan Webb vs. Padres – 22.9% K, 3.8% BB, 3.35 ERA, 3.21 SIERA
Jon Gray at Angels – 21.3% K, 8.5% BB, 4.22 ERA, 4.55 SIERA
Patrick Sandoval vs. Rangers – 19.8% K, 10.8% BB, 4.19 ERA, 4.90 SIERA
This is a fantastic pitching slate, and I see no likelihood of pitch count shenanigans.
The Rangers, Astros, Mariners, Giants and Padres are all in must-win playoff mode. The one team who is eliminated, the Angels, may as well try to play spoiler against a division foe.
Making this even more interesting, DK has priced every pitcher down below $10k, making it not quite a pick ‘em, but easier than usual to just play any pairing you want.
Using full season numbers, it’s Blake Snell vs. Luis Castillo for top billing tonight.
