Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Monday 9/7

Happy Monday and Happy Labor Day! We get an early start on this holiday Monday, with both sites having a 6-game main slate that starts at 1:05 PM ET. Outside of one priced-up ace, this slate looks very evenly balanced and spread out on both the pitching and hitting sides. I’m hoping to find a few favorites hidden in the tangle, so let’s dive in and see what happens.
Monday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel
Jesus Luzardo is up in a tier of his own in terms of salary and skill set. Beyond him, I’m seeing four other mid-tier pitchers in a pretty tight race for SP2.
- Jesus Luzardo vs. Braves – 30% K, 7.3% BB, 3.02 ERA, 3.10 SIERA
- Eury Perez vs. Mets – 26.1% K, 10.6% BB, 3.72 ERA, 4.03 SIERA
- Trevor Rogers vs. Guardians – 21.9% K, 6.1% BB, 4.30 ERA, 3.97 SIERA
- Noah Cameron vs. Diamondbacks – 21.3% K, 7.6% BB, 4.08 ERA, 4.16 SIERA
- Joey Cantillo at Orioles – 24.5% K, 11.7% BB, 3.81 ERA, 4.28 SIERA
While it’s not an ideal matchup for Jesus Luzardo, he’s also just way better than everyone else on this slate. His already elite 30% K rate is up to 33% since the start of July, and his control remains outstanding to go along with it. Matchup has barely mattered at all, as he has allowed more than 2 runs in only 1 of his last 15 starts. His pitch count is also up among the league’s best, going 98+ pitches in 8 straight starts. We’ll see what else we find before deciding if he’s a must-play, but in any matchup, he’s the clear SP1 on this slate.
