CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.

Happy Saturday! I had the craziest dream last night. The planet was being attacked by aliens and the only way they would spare us is Sonny Gray could strike out 13 Astros in a game. Thank goodness that scenario never played out in real life, cause no way could Gray strike out 13 Astros. We’d be finished. That start was just another in the long line of reminders that baseball is baseball, and this is why we throw random darts in large-field tournaments. Sometimes you just can’t make this stuff up.

We are back to another split-slate day, with games throughout the afternoon and evening. Thankfully, DK and FD have matching slates this time with two six-game slates, the first at 4:05pm ET and the next at 7:05pm ET. Let’s jump on in and see what we have in the way of MLB DFS picks on these slates.

Saturday Early Slate Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

There are no top tier aces, although maybe Jeffrey Springs puts himself in that category this season, but we do have a decent-ish group of mostly affordable options to build around:

Jeffrey Springs vs A’s
Nick Lodolo at Phillies
Kodai Senga vs Marlins
Brady Singer at Giants
Justin Steele vs Rangers
Martin Perez at Cubs
Bailey Falter vs Reds
Tanner Houck at Tigers

Jeffrey Springs started the season with an easy matchup, and he was fantastic with 12 strikeouts six scoreless innings. Most likely, we’re not going to see that kind of strikeout stuff again, but even just at his 2022 level of 26.2% K, along with his great control, I would have him as the clear top pitcher on this slate. DK still has him priced far too low, and I wouldn’t argue with a lock button. However, FD is giving him the respect he deserves, if not too much, all the way up at $11,000. There, he is more of a play him if he fits, but I don’t think he needs to be forced in.
