Million Dollar Musings: Thursday, September 28
CheeseIsGood, a two-time winner of a $1,000,000 first-place prize in DFS, is here to give you his musings on the upcoming MLB DFS slate. Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Cheese has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks.
Happy Thursday! Well folks, the good news is that this is the last Dodgers in Coors Field slate of the season. The bad news is that it’s a small slate with the Dodgers in Coors Field. We’ll see if we can find a few MLB DFS picks to pivot to beyond those Dodgers, and we’ll start on the pitching side where we have a 5-way tie with nothing past it.
Thursday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings
We’ve got a pitching slate with Five Guys (mmmm!) who are closely bunched, and then a whole bunch of nothing. I really can’t even find a reason to type the names of the pitchers past these five, so this is it:
TOP TIER AND ONLY TIER
Jesus Luzardo at Mets – 27.7% K, 7.6% BB, 3.73 ERA, 3.75 SIERA
Logan Gilbert vs. Rangers – 24.6% K, 4.8% BB, 3.75 ERA, 3.79 SIERA
Chris Bassitt vs. Yankees – 21.8% K, 7.3% BB, 3.74 ERA, 4.36 SIERA
Jordan Montgomery at Mariners – 21.4% K, 6.1% BB, 3.25 ERA, 4.22 SIERA
David Peterson vs. Marlins – 25.8% K, 9.9% BB, 5.37 ERA, 3.94 SIERA
The good news is that none of these pitchers are above $10k on DK and only one hits that mark on FD. So while we don’t really have any cheap nonsense worth playing, we should be able to afford the better options.
Among this group, Jesus Luzardo, Chris Bassitt Logan Gilbert and Jordan Montgomery still have something to play for, while David Peterson is making his final starts of the season for an eliminated team. What this means is that there are no overwhelming pitch count concerns. Everyone should get a full go for as long as they are pitching well.
