Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS Picks Today for Tuesday 7/7

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to muse about the July 7, 2026 MLB DFS slate.
Happy Tuesday! We have a relatively small slate for a Tuesday, with just a 9-game main slate on DK and an 8-game slate on FD. The difference in the sites is that DK is including Game 2 of the MIL/STL doubleheader, while FD is not. This slate does not appear to have a ton to love on either the pitching or hitting sides, and at first glance, I am expecting to have a very small primary pool, but let’s dive in and see what happens.
Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings and FanDuel

We have a pretty clear top two pitchers and a total of six who are at least $8,500 on DK and $9,000 on FD that I’ll include in the top tier.
TOP TIER PITCHING
- Jacob deGrom vs. Angels – 30.3% K, 5.3% BB, 3.48 ERA, 3.02 SIERA
- Zack Wheeler at Reds – 27.3% K, 6.5% BB, 2.36 ERA, 3.32 SIERA
- Jose Soriano at Rangers – 26.2% K, 11.6% BB, 3.42 ERA, 3.98 SIERA
- Taj Bradley vs. Guardians – 26.9% K, 10% BB, 3.86 ERA, 3.92 SIERA
- Justin Wrobleski vs. Rockies – 17.3% K, 4.9% BB, 2.80 ERA, 4.39 SIERA
- Payton Tolle at White Sox – 24.3% K, 7.5% BB, 3.39 ERA, 3.97 SIERA
You could argue either way about who is a better overall pitcher between Jacob deGrom and Zack Wheeler. They are both fantastic. Wheeler has a longer leash and doesn’t allow as much power as deGrom, but deGrom has both a higher strikeout rate and a lower walk rate. Either one of these aces can be played in any matchup at any salary on any slate, but if I can only choose one of them tonight, it will be deGrom. Both matchups have plenty of strikeouts, but deGrom’s matchup has a few more. Both matchups have some power risk, but deGrom’s has less. I would take deGrom straight-up over Wheeler even before factoring in that he’s cheaper on both sites. I assume everyone is going think this, so deGrom is also likely the heavy chalk, which certainly makes Wheeler an interesting tournament pivot, but I am confident enough in deGrom that I don’t feel any need to overthink it in this matchup.
After those two aces, it gets a little trickier. The other four pitchers who are at least $8,500 on DK all have something in their skill set to keep them a full rung below deGrom and Wheeler.
For both Jose Soriano and Taj Bradley, it’s the walks and the consistency. However, both have also shown plenty of ceiling, and in fact, they both showed that ceiling in their last starts. Overall, if you look at both full-season numbers and more recent numbers, I have to side with…
