Happy Tuesday! We’ve got a 10-game slate tonight that appears to be a little light on the pitching side and a little tricky with pricing. At first glance, it’s one of those slates that has some very obvious top plays, but they are priced up enough that you can’t just jam them all in and move on with your day. Let’s dive into these MLB DFS picks and see if we can find some less obvious options, or at least figure out how to prioritize those obvious good plays on both sides of the ledger.
Tuesday Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on FanDuel & DraftKings

The lopsided nature of this slate is clear right from the start, with Gerrit Cole being the clear SP1, but also price up at $12k on DK and $11,500 on FD. These are the four pitchers over $9k on this slate:
Gerrit Cole vs. Tigers – 27.1% K, 6.5% BB, 2.95 ERA, 3.68 SIERA
Framber Valdez at Rangers – 24.2% K, 6.3% BB, 3.38 ERA, 3.65 SIERA
Nathan Eovaldi vs. Astros – 23.2% K, 7.1% BB, 2.69 ERA, 4.00 SIERA
Chris Bassitt at A’s – 21.9% K, 7.5% BB, 3.81 ERA, 4.39 SIERA
Even before accounting for matchup, Gerrit Cole stands out as the best pitcher on this slate. His 27% K rate leads the way and it’s gone up to 30% since the All-Star Break, with his outstanding control and high pitch count giving him 9 quality starts in his last 11 outings. When we add in his matchup against Detroit, weighed against the tougher matchups for Valdez and Eovaldi, Cole is the very clear and obvious SP1. It’s just going to come down to salary and what you want to do with your bats, as well as your SP2 on DK. So let’s look at everything else and then figure out how strongly to prioritize the spend up on Cole.
