Million Dollar Musings: MLB DFS picks

Whether you are looking for the top pitchers or the best stacks, Dave Potts (aka CheeseIsGood) has you covered with an extensive deep dive into his MLB DFS picks today. Cheese, one of the preeminent baseball minds in all of fantasy sports and a winner of a $1,000,000 1st-place prize on both DraftKings and FanDuel, is here to muse about the July 22, 2026 MLB DFS slate.

Happy Wednesday! We’ve got a busy day, with 17 games being played throughout the day. All 17 of those games appear on one of the two main DK slates. I’ll start with a look at the early 8-game DK slate that starts at 1:05 PM ET. For the main evening slate, DK is including Game 2 for both of the PIT/NYY and BAL/BOS doubleheaders for a 9-game slate that starts at 6:40 PM ET. FD is starting at the same time but is not including the doubleheaders, so that will just be a 7-game slate.

Wednesday Early Pitching: MLB DFS Picks on DraftKings

Cole of the Yankees

We have a very bunched-up pitching slate where everyone ends up in a similar salary range.

TOP TIER PITCHING

Logan Henderson has far and away the best skill set on this slate, but that also comes in just 33 innings over 7 starts. We saw the same kind of ace-level skill set in a brief 25 innings last season, so he may just be this good. But the bigger problem than the overall sample size is the game-to-game workload. He has only made 2 starts since coming off the IL, throwing just 76 and 73 pitches in those starts. Even more concerning, that last start ended due to forearm cramping in the 5th inning. Given that he’s pitching today, the forearm issue is most likely fine, but I have to think there is something like an 85-pitch ceiling here, which is the most pitches he’s thrown all season. The skills are so good that even if it were 75 pitches, I think he’s very much in the pool, but let’s see what else we find.
