MLB DFS Top Stacks: Friday, August 25

Derek Farnsworth walks you through the top stacks for the upcoming MLB main slate. Should we eat the chalk? Which team is a good pivot? Where can we find leverage? Find out below!
MLB DFS is complex. Most articles on MLB DFS picks are about the individual players most likely to succeed on any given day, but the MLB DFS picks most likely to succeed aren’t always the MLB DFS picks we should be most likely to play.
In this space, we will look at the MLB DFS process over the MLB DFS picks. And we’re looking at teams over individual players, using the features of the RotoGrinders Top Stacks tool. We’ll still look at the player projections available in LineupHQ. Still, we’ll be more focused on collective ownership, optimal scores, and matchups of full stacks within the context of game selection and leverage.
Hello my friends and happy Friday!
It’s an exciting time of year for sports fans. The MLB playoffs are right around the corner, college football starts this weekend, the NFL starts in a couple of weeks, and the start of basketball isn’t too far after that. As someone that has been playing DFS for almost 12+ years, I have learned a lot of lessons. The most important one is to not try to do everything myself. I lean on other experts and on the amazing projections teams here at RotoGrinders. Once multiple big sports are going at the same time, it’s important to find a balance between research and content overload.
As for tonight, there are 15 games on the schedule but only 12 of them are featured on the main slate. Weather doesn’t appear to be an issue and it has been hot all over the country, so we could see some good hitting conditions in a number of places. In fact, there are five games on the WeatherEdge page that have seen at least a 10% boost in home runs in similar conditions. My favorite part of the slate is that we don’t have to worry about playing or fading Coors Field, as the Rockies are in Baltimore this evening.
We truly appreciate having you here at RotoGrinders. Let’s get into the stacks!
Chalk Stack #1 – Dodgers vs. Kutter Crawford

Can you imagine if the Dodgers played all of their games in Fenway Park? They are currently second in the majors in home runs and third in runs scored, yet they play in a bottom 10 hitter’s park. In contrast is Fenway, which has been the second best hitter’s park in baseball over the last few years. I’m happy to be overweight on the Dodgers tonight, even though they are projecting for 10.9% ownership on DraftKings and 9.7% ownership on FanDuel.
