Keith Eyster walks you through the top stacks for the upcoming MLB main slate. Should we eat the chalk? Which team is a good pivot? Where can we find leverage? Find out below!

MLB DFS is complex. Most articles on MLB DFS picks are about the individual players most likely to succeed on any given day, but the MLB DFS picks most likely to succeed aren’t always the MLB DFS picks we should be most likely to play.

In this space, we will look at the MLB DFS process over the MLB DFS picks. And we’re looking at teams over individual players, using the features of the RotoGrinders Top Stacks tool. We’ll still look at the player projections available in LineupHQ. Still, we’ll be more focused on collective ownership, optimal scores, and matchups of full stacks within the context of game selection and leverage.

SUMMARY

We have a bunched-up, eight-game slate to kick off the week. Pitching is quite weak on this slate, which leaves us with plenty of options to choose from on the offensive side. I don’t think there is any obvious chalk here either, but let’s jump in and break down what we are doing with the bats today.

Chalk Stack – Blue Jays vs. Michael Grove

The Blue Jays have been an elite offense again this season, with a .326 wOBA and 108 wRC+ that both rank inside the top ten in the league.

They get a matchup with Michael Grove of the Dodgers, who has allowed over 50% hard contact in 52 innings this season. He also owns a below average 20.4% strikeout rate and has surrendered 1.56 HR/9.

The Jays have a very deep lineup, with seven of their nine projected hitters owning at least a .155 ISO and .325 wOBA versus right-handed pitching this season.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. leads the way with a .211 ISO versus righties, and he has been in top form since his Home Run Derby victory. Brandon Belt will be a popular salary saving option. He brings a .193 ISO versus righties into the matchup, but he also comes with plenty of risk as he has struck out at a 36.6% clip.

Matt Chapman and Bo Bichette represent elite options today as well, but they are priced closer to mid-range options.

Ultimately, I think it is the pricing of the Blue Jays overall that makes them one of the more attractive options on the board today.
