postulations (plural noun)
A suggestion or assumption of the existence, fact, or truth of something as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief.

Happy Thursday! Thanks to the Oakland comeback yesterday, we have one more four game slate today. However, we have a completely ridiculous pitching slate today that makes it basically impossible to write any useful analysis of most of these matchups. There is also a lack of clarity on most of these situations, and the teams have no reason to want to share any information on their plans with their opponents, or us. I’ll go ahead and start writing as if we actually know who is starting these games, but I will tell you right from the start, that I am seeing the last three games of the day more as bullpen games. It’s quite possible that some of these pitchers will be changed after I write this, and I’ll come back and update as needed.

Thursday Pitching

It’s likely that all you need from pitcher today is a few decent innings. We’re not chasing huge starts here, but I want to have my pitchers in the game for more than an inning or two.

Sixto Sanchez is as likely as anyone on this slate to pitch deep enough into the game to be useful. His first playoff start was a success with six strikeouts in five innings on 89 pitches against the Cubs. This matchup is far tougher, and he did struggle badly last time he faced the Braves.
