postulations (plural noun)
A suggestion or assumption of the existence, fact, or truth of something as a basis for reasoning, discussion, or belief.
Well, Happy Wednesday! The first three games went according to script on day one of the playoffs with ace pitchers and strong bullpens keeping the offense in check. But then we got an outlier start in the nightcap with the Yankees reminding us that if an ace is off his game at the wrong time, these playoff teams are good enough to do some damage.
Today’s eight-game slate is still pretty heavy on the pitching side, but there are a few more spots with good, but not great pitching. This slate starts early, so I’m going to go quickly through all this and just give my overall thoughts, without too much deep diving into stats.
Playoffs Day Two
Trevor Bauer at Max Fried
Houston (McCullers? Urquidy?) at Jose Berrios
Sandy Alcantara at Kyle Hendricks
Dallas Keuchel at Chris Bassitt
Hyun-Jin Ryu at Tyler Glasnow
Kwang Hyun Kim at Chris Paddack
Masahiro Tanaka at Carlos Carrasco
Brewers Bullpen Day at Walker Buehler
WEDNESDAY PITCHING
I see a couple buckets to separate the top pitchers into today.
-Strikeout Aces – Tyler Glasnow, Trevor Bauer
-Long Term Aces – Walker Buehler, Carlos Carrasco
-Real Life Aces – Hyun Jin Ryu, Kyle Hendricks
-Mid-Range – Jose Berrios, Chris Paddack, Max Fried, Chris Bassitt
