Pitcher Grind Down
- Mat Latos – Dollar for dollar, Latos is one of the top pitching plays tonight. He has pitched well since coming back from injury and gets a dream matchup tonight against the Padres in Petco. Latos is a slight favorite in a game that features the lowest run total of any game on the schedule. Expect another quality outing from Latos tonight. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7800 FD, $17023 DS, $13150 DD, $9400 DK, $95000 FF, $23500 SS, $13150 FTD
- Jesse Hahn – If you have taken a chance on Hahn this season, you have likely been rewarded handsomely. In his first 4 starts he has posted a 2.38 ERA while striking out 27 batters over 22 innings of work. The young RH pitcher has always had great velocity, but has struggled to remain healthy. He’s looking to prove that he isn’t a fluke and will certainly gain some followers if he can pitch well against the Reds tonight. Rating = 6
Salaries: $6300 FD, $16114 DS, $14900 DD, $8300 DK, $89600 FF, $23000 SS, $14900 FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cincinnati
Joey Votto – While I like Hahn tonight, I’m not going to rule out taking Votto against him either. Votto has a .351 wOBA against RH pitching this season and has safely reached base 15 times in the last 10 games.
Additional Plays: Billy Hamilton
San Diego
You can avoid the Padres tonight. Not only are they ranked dead last against RH pitching this season, but they are playing in Petco which surrenders the fewest runs of any ballpark in baseball.
