Pitcher Grind Down
- Hisashi Iwakuma – Iwakuma has been hit hard in each of his last 4 starts. He has given up a combined 15 earned runs while only striking out 18 batters. He’s typically one of the most consistent pitchers in daily fantasy baseball, but that hasn’t been the case with his recent starts. Considering his form and his matchup against a very solid Angels offense, he can safely be avoided tonight. Rating = 5
Salaries: $8900 FD, $19850 DD, $10000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Matt Shoemaker – Shoemaker is having a terrific season. He is boasting a 3.16 ERA with a K/9 of 8.4. He is only walking 1.68 batters per 9 innings and he is giving up less than a HR per 9 innings as well. He has been terrific at home with a 2.20 ERA while holding opponents to a .231 batting average. All in all, he’s a very solid play tonight against the Mariners who are ranked 18th in wOBA vs. RH pitching this season. Rating = 7
Salaries: $8100 FD, $15200 DD, $8800 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

Seattle
Kyle Seager and Robinson Cano are both typically in play against RH pitching, but Matt Shoemaker has kept LH hitters in check this season and he has been dominant at home. Plus, there is a game in Coors Field with much better fantasy options.
LA Angels
Even though Iwakuma has been struggling, targeting hitters against very good pitchers isn’t an ideal strategy in daily fantasy baseball. This is a situation where you can avoid both sides altogether.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jerome Williams – Williams has been a guy that most of us have tried to pick on over and over again this season, but he just seems to pitch well enough that taking a stack against him doesn’t work out. While he does see a nice ballpark boost tonight in Petco Park, he’s still not a recommended fantasy option as he has a high ERA (5.44) and a low K/9 (6.6). Rating = 4
Salaries: $5900 FD, $8850 DD, $6400 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Andrew Cashner – Cashner’s strikeouts have been down since coming back from injury, but he has still been a very effective pitcher. On the season he owns a 2.40 ERA with a K/9 of 6.7. Tonight he gets to pitch at home against one of the worst offenses in the National League. At his price, he certainly deserves roster consideration, especially with Jerome Williams pitching opposite him. Rating = 6.5
Salaries: $7800 FD, $13000 DD, $7100 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

Philadelphia
Avoid all Phillies tonight against Andrew Cashner who has held both LH and RH hitters under a .315 wOBA this season.
San Diego
Seth Smith – Again, Coors Field is where you should look for most of your offensive production tonight, but if you want to take a contrarian play here, Smith is in a nice spot. He has hit RH pitching well all season long and Jerome Williams has given up a .375 wOBA to LH hitters this season.
Additional Plays: Yasmani Grandal
