Pitcher Grind Down
- Dallas Keuchel – Keuchel has continued his very good season for the Astros that will pretty much go to waste. His 3.09 ERA and 1.21 WHIP has given Keuchel a 10-9 record for a very poor team. He now has to face the hottest offense in baseball in the Angels, which makes him a tough start. He might make a good long shot GPP option as his price seems a bit low today. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7400 FD, $15550 DD, $8400 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Hector Santiago – Santiago has done what he needs to do for the Angels as a starter. Yet, they really only ask him to go 5 innings and that is what Santiago does in each start. This takes away a ton of fantasy value. This makes him a very difficult start as his ceiling is so low. Rating = 5
Salaries: $6400 FD, $12000 DD, $7500 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

Houston
Jose Altuve – Altuve versus a lefty? Sign me up. He is a top option at the second base position as he has a wOBA of .440 against LH pitching.
Additional Plays: Chris Carter
LA Angels
Mike Trout – Two of the top plays of the day come from this game. Trout is the best hitter in baseball and is feeling it at the plate at the moment. He is 11 hits in his last 26 at bats including 9 XBH, with 3 home runs. Fit him in somehow today.
Additional Plays: Albert Pujols Howie Kendrick

Pitcher Grind Down
- Clayton Kershaw – There is no pitcher better than Kershaw in the league. He has mowed through every lineup this year and today has a great matchup against the Giants who he has allowed 3 earned runs in 16 innings. He will get you at least 7 innings and possible double digit strikeouts. He is the top option by far, but the salary will be tough to fit in. Rating = 9
Salaries: $12600 FD, $22950 DD, $14800 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Yusmeiro Petit – Other than the hiccup at Coors Field, Petit has been a tremendous starter for the Giants. His one problem is that the Giants have not shown that they will allow him to pitch past 85 pitches, which as his price gets higher, makes him tough to pay up for as he could get pulled after the 5th or 6th if his PC gets too high. The win will be very difficult today and unless he is still cheap (DK) he makes a tough play. Rating = 5
Salaries: $8000 FD, $10150 DD, $6700 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

LA Dodgers
Adrian Gonzalez – This is a GPP play only as I think Petit pitches well today (I just don’t know for how long). Gonzalez has a wOBA of .383 against RH pitching and could go deep today.
Additional Plays: Dee Gordon
San Francisco
Avoid the bats against the best pitcher in baseball.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Odrisamer Despaigne – Despaigne has fared well as a pitcher in Petco, but holds a 5.40 ERA away from home. He now has to take on the Dbacks in a hitters park where he has struggled a bit before. Avoid him today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5400 FD, $11100 DD, $7700 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Trevor Cahill – Cahill has not been a fantasy relevant starter all year as he holds a 5+ ERA and a 1.58 WHIP. He does win the matchup lottery today as he gets to take on the Padres, but this time in Chase Field. He allowed 3 earned runs to these Padres in his last start and that was in Petco, I would avoid him today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5600 FD, $9750 DD, $5700 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
San Diego
Seth Smith – With all the lefties that the Padres faced, Smith did not get many at bats. He will be in the lineup now and has struggled recently so his price should be depressed. He still has hit RH pitching well and could take advantage of the park factors today and go deep.
Arizona
Ender Inciarte – Inciarte can put up points in a hurry if he can get on base. He showed that yesterday with 2 hits, including a double to go along with 2 stole bases. He makes a decent play if cheap at your site.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jon Lester – Lester has been great ever since getting thrown into a playoff contender with the A’s. Since being acqured, he has a sub 3.00 ERA and has struck out over 5 batters in all of his starts except for one. He now takes on a Mariners team that is at the bottom of the league in team wOBA against LH pitching. He makes a great play if you can’t pay up for Kershaw today. Rating = 8
Salaries: $10000 FD, $19850 DD, $12100 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Chris Young – Young has pitched well all year long, but the advanced stats has shown that he cannot keep it up. I have not started him one time all year long as I always think he will get lit up, but he continues to truck along to 5-6 innings of good pitching. Regardless, he strikes out noone and is way to risky. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6500 FD, $7550 DD, $6600 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Oakland
Brandon Moss – He should be dirt cheap and makes a decent GPP option as I feel Young will explode at some point down the last few weeks of the season.
Additional Plays: Coco Crisp Josh Donaldson Derek Norris
Seattle
Avoid the bats against Lester.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hiroki Kuroda – Kuroda has pitched better since the All-Star break, but has still not pitched well enough for fantasy consideration. He has an overall 3.91 ERA and 1.18 WHIP. He has to take on an offense that has hit the ball well recently. He makes a decent mid-tier GPP option, but I could not trust him for cash games. Rating = 5
Salaries: $7200 FD, $13300 DD, $7900 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Chris Tillman – Tillman has quietly been very good this year for Baltimore. He has not given up more than 3 earned runs since June 5th (19 starts) including 2 great starts against the Yankees. He is a decent favorite today in a game with a 7 total. I think he makes a great option today. Rating = 7
Salaries: $7600 FD, $14250 DD, $8800 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
NY Yankees
I am going to avoid the Yankee bats today as I think Tillman makes a great mid-tiered option.
Baltimore
Adam Jones – He has been hitting the ball well recently and is 9/27 against Kuroda.
