Pitcher Grind Down
- John Danks – Danks has been a very up and down pitcher this year, but has never been fantasy relevant. He comes into this matchup with a 4.88 ERA on the year and has been known for the blowup a bit over the course of the season. Avoid him today. Rating = 4
Salaries: $6000 FD, $10250 DD, $5600 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Nate Karns – Karns comes into this matchup as a big favorite against the White Sox and Danks. In his first start he was very impressive going 7 innings with 0 earned runs and 8 strike outs. He makes a decent GPP play as he will be low owned. Rating = 5

Chicago White Sox
Jose Abreu – If you want a GPP play, Abreu is your guy. He should be low owned with all the games today, but is in line to go yard each and every day. Most of his power has come against RH pitching this year and the young pitcher may make a mistake for Abreu to jump on today.
Tampa Bay
Evan Longoria – Although Danks is a bit of a reverse splits pitcher, he allows hitters from both sides of the plate to hit well against him. Longo has mashed lefties for a wOBA of .354 this year.
Additional Plays: Ben Zobrist

Pitcher Grind Down
- Rick Porcello – Porcello has been a great back end starter for the Tigers. His ERA has hovered in the low 3’s for the majority of the season and he continues to give the Tigers a lot of quality innings. He now will take on A Royals squad that has struggled to score runs in the first two games of this series. I like Porcello a lot on multi-pitcher sites where he is cheap. Rating = 6
Salaries: $7800 FD, $13850 DD, $7400 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Jeremy Guthrie – Guthrie is a below average starter and one that has not fared well against this Tigers team including a recent effort where he only went 2.2 innings and got lit up for 8 runs. Move on to a better pitcher to target with the big slate today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $6200 FD, $11350 DD, $6800 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD

Detroit
Miguel Cabrera – Miggy has crushed Guthrie in these meetings and has gone 16/47 with 3 home runs.
Additional Plays: Victor Martinez J.D. Martinez
Kansas City
Alex Gordon – Gordon has really struggled this week making his price depressed across the industry. I think he makes a decent play today against Porcello where his price is cheap.
Seattle at Houston

Pitcher Grind Down
- Hisashi Iwakuma – Iwakuma was one of the most consistent starters in baseball all year long. Until about 3 weeks ago when he has allowed 3 or more earned runs in each of his last 5 starts. This is a bit of a concern for me today and with so many other options at his price point, I will be avoiding him. Rating = 5
Salaries: $8700 FD, $18950 DD, $10000 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Collin McHugh – McHugh has been great all year long and has a very impressive 2.66 ERA after 24 starts. He will look to continue this against the Mariners who he recently dominated in Seattle. This game is taking place in more hitter friend Houston, which takes a bit of his value away. I think he still pitches very well today and is just another good mid-tiered option. Rating = 6
Salaries: $8900 FD, $19400 DD, $9700 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Seattle
Robinson Cano – Cano has crushed any and all RH pitching in his career and this year. He has a season wOBA of .387 against righties.
Additional Plays: Kyle Seager
Houston
Chris Carter – If Iwakuma struggles, Carter will most likely be the cause of it. Carter has gone on some homer streaks this year and yesterday’s bomb could start a new one. He makes a GPP only play.
Additional Plays: Jose Altuve
Cleveland at Minnesota

Pitcher Grind Down
- Corey Kluber – Kluber’s fantastic season has continued after a small hiccup at the end of August. He has come back to throw 24.1 innings of 3 earned run ball with 29 strike outs along the way. His run should continue against Minnesota who he has pitched well against this year and should have plenty of run support along the way. Due to his strikeout potential (10 K/9), he is my top pitching play today. Rating = 10
Salaries: $11000 FD, $21200 DD, $12300 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Anthony Swarzak – Swarzak is making some spot starts at the end of the year and he did not fare to well in his first one. He allowed 6 earned runs in 4.1 innings to the Tigers and now will try to stop a good Indians squad that has hit RH pitching well all year. Avoid him today. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5100 FD, $9150 DD, $5400 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
Cleveland
Carlos Santana – Santana is another hit or miss player this year that is in play against the poor righty arm of Swarzak. He has homered off of Swarzak in his career and has a very good shot to do it again today.
Additional Plays: Michael Brantley Lonnie Chisenhall Jason Kipnis (if playing)
Minnesota
Avoid the bats here as Kluber should mow through the Twins today.

Pitcher Grind Down
- Jamey Wright – Wright has pitched strictly out of the bullpen this year. Regardless of his numbers, his pitch limit could limit him from even going enough to get the win. Avoid him regardless of price. Rating = 2
Salaries: $5000 FD, $7500 DD, $6500 DK, $NA FF, $NA SS, $NA FTD
- Jacob Turner – Turner looked good for about 2 games after getting acquired by the Cubs. Since then he has allowed 19 earned runs in his last 4 starts. He now has to take on a quality Dodgers team that has been putting up a ton of runs recently. The totals are not known at the moment, but Turner is an avoid regardless. Rating = 3
Salaries: $5000 FD, $9150 DD, $4700 DK, $ FF, $ SS, $ FTD
Batter Grind Down
LA Dodgers
Adrian Gonzalez – Turner has been bad against hitters from both sides of the plate. AGON is loving Wrigley right now so we should ride the hot bat and hope for another multi-bomb day.
Additional Plays: Matt Kemp Yasiel Puig Dee Gordon
Chicago Cubs
Jorge Soler – This guy is ridiculous and should have plenty of RBI opportunities against the Dodgers bullpen today.
Additional Plays: Anthony Rizzo
