wOBA: 0.276 (Rank: 30)
Strikeout Rate: 20.3% (Rank: 17)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.82 (Rank: 12)
Analysis: Williams isn’t the biggest underdog on the board tonight, but he’s close. On the season, he has a 4.63 SIERA with a low K/9 of 5.3. He draws a favorable matchup against the Mets, but he’s not on my pitching radar tonight. He should see very limited run support with Jacob deGrom on the mound for the Mets.

Philadelphia Phillies vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.277 (Rank: 28)
Strikeout Rate: 19.3% (Rank: 8)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.67 (Rank: 28)
Analysis: After a fairly slow start to the season, deGrom has put his foot on the gas in his last few starts. He now owns a 3.32 SIERA with a K/9 of 8.7. He doesn’t walk many batters and he has one of the highest strikeout rates in all of baseball. While the Phillies may not strike out at a high rate, they make outs and they make them quickly. The Phillies are ranked 28th in wOBA (.277) against right-handed pitching and they average the third-fewest pitches per plate appearance this season.

2014 vs. RH Pitching: PA: 642 — wOBA: 0.328 — ISO: 0.120 — wRC+: 113
Analysis: It’s time to hop on the Murphy bandwagon. Murphy is one of those streaky players that racks up hits in bunches. He is riding a five-game hitting streak in which he has accumulated nine hits. His price is very affordable on both FanDuel and DraftKings and he draws a favorable matchup against Jerome Williams, who has given up a .352 wOBA to left-handed hitters.

wOBA: 0.323 (Rank: 12)
Strikeout Rate: 15.8% (Rank: 2)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.93 (Rank: 4)
Analysis: Rodriguez is typically one of my favorite pitchers to target hitters against, but he hasn’t been very kind to those of us that have targeted him this season. He pitched well against the Astros and the Red Sox, both of which were top offenses to target on those nights. I’m still not buying in on Rodriguez. He gives up a high wOBA to both left and right-handed hitters and he hasn’t had a K/9 this high since 2011. Once again, I’m bullish on the offense facing Mr. Rodriguez.

Texas Rangers vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.300 (Rank: 19)
Strikeout Rate: 20.7% (Rank: 20)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.82 (Rank: 13)
Analysis: Salazar is a lot like his teammate Carlos Carrasco in that they may give up a couple of runs per start, but their extremely high strikeout rate more than makes up for it. Salazar owns a 2.27 SIERA on the season with an impressive K/9 of 12.4. The Rangers’ offense has been much better recently, but they are still ranked below the major league average in both wOBA (.300) and strikeout rate (20.7%) against right-handed pitching. Salazar is a strong play in both tournaments and as an SP2 on multi-pitcher sites.

Santana draws a fantastic matchup tonight at home against Wandy Rodriguez, who has given up a .353 wOBA to right-handed hitters since the start of 2014. Santana is a great value play at first base on FanDuel and he is an even better play on DraftKings, as he is catcher-eligible.

wOBA: 0.326 (Rank: 11)
Strikeout Rate: 20.1% (Rank: 15)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.75 (Rank: 21)
Analysis: De La Rosa has been by far the best starter in the Rockies’ rotation this season. He owns a 3.83 SIERA with a K/9 of 10.1. The high strikeout rate may be unsustainable for De La Rosa though, and he’s getting little love from the oddsmakers in Vegas. The Rockies are sizable underdogs tonight against the Reds in a game that features a total of 8.5 runs.
Pitcher Rating:49.0
Michael Lorenzen (FD: $5300, DK: $4000)
Pitching Stats:
2015: IP: 19 — SIERA: 5.36 — K Rate: 12.6% — K/9: 5.21 — BB Rate: 11.5% — FB Rate: 29.7% — HR/FB: 21.1%

wOBA: 0.329 (Rank: 3)
Strikeout Rate: 19.6% (Rank: 11)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.74 (Rank: 23)
Analysis: Lorenzen may be a small favorite tonight, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option. He has a below-average SIERA of 5.36 this season with a low K/9 of 5.2. He walks nearly as many batters as he strikes out and he has to face a Rockies’ offense that is ranked third in wOBA (.329) against right-handed pitching this season. Both offenses are in play tonight in the Great American Ballpark.

Analysis: Blackmon has been the one consistent source of fantasy production in the Rockies’ lineup this season. He has a .381 wOBA and a .193 ISO against right-handed pitching. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against Mike Lorenzen, who has given up a .455 wOBA to left-handed hitters. Analysis: Frazier doesn’t get the recognition that he deserves in daily fantasy baseball. He can hit for average, he can hit for power, and he’s actually pretty quick on the base pads. wOBA: 0.336 (Rank: 6)
Strikeout Rate: 24.0% (Rank: 26)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.90 (Rank: 6)
Analysis: Happ has pitched well this season with a 3.81 SIERA and a K/9 of 7.2. The problem is that most people have a bias against him for whatever reason. The numbers look good, but he’ll have a very low ownership level tonight against the Rays. Happ would deserve a look if he was a little cheaper, but there are better options at his price point. The Rays hit southpaws fairly well and they take a lot of pitches (sixth in P/PA this season).

wOBA: 0.299 (Rank: 20)
Strikeout Rate: 21.5% (Rank: 24)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.86 (Rank: 8)
Analysis: Colome is like a box of chocolates, we never know which one we are going to get. He has had two very good starts, one mediocre start, and two very bad starts this season. There is zero consistency here and his limited pitch count really hurts his fantasy appeal. Even in a favorable matchup against the Mariners, Colome can safely be avoided in all league formats.

Analysis: Buchholz continues to have great indicators, yet he continues to give up a lot of runs. He has a 3.14 SIERA, which suggests that he is pitching much better than his 4.58 ERA. He has a high K/9 of 9.9 and his velocity is up this season. He draws a favorable matchup on paper, as the Twins are ranked 27th in wOBA (.285) and 28th in strikeout rate (23.3%) against right-handed pitching this season. Boston Red Sox vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.315 (Rank: 12)
Strikeout Rate: 16.4% (Rank: 3)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 4.01 (Rank: 2)
Analysis: Pelfrey hasn’t been awful this season, but he doesn’t have what we are looking for in a pitcher. He has a very low K/9 of 4.4 with a walk rate that is nearly as high as his strikeout rate. He can safely be avoided tonight against the Red Sox, who are ranked 12th or better in wOBA, strikeout rate, and pitches per plate appearance against right-handed pitching this season.

2014 vs. RH Pitching: PA: 512 — wOBA: 0.355 — ISO: 0.156 — wRC+: 131
Analysis: Ramirez hasn’t had a ton of success against right-handed pitching this season, but he’s coming off of a 2014 campaign where he had a .355 wOBA and a .156 ISO against righties. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against Mike Pelfrey, who gives up a much higher wOBA to right-handed hitters than he does to left-handed hitters.
