Kyle Lohse (FD: $6900, DK: $7300)
Pitching Stats:
2015: SIERA: 3.98 — K Rate: 19.0% — K/9: 7.17 — BB Rate: 5.0% — FB Rate: 41.8% — HR/FB: 16.4%
2014: SIERA: 4.04 — K Rate: 17.3% — K/9: 6.40 — BB Rate: 5.5% — FB Rate: 40.6% — HR/FB: 8.9%
Detroit Tigers vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.328 (Rank: 4)
Strikeout Rate: 19.2% (Rank: 10)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.86 (Rank: 9)
Analysis: Lohse has really turned it around, after a couple of terrible starts to open the season. He now owns a 3.98 SIERA with a K/9 of 7.2. He has always been a pitcher that relies on good command and good location, but he’s never been a high-strikeout pitcher. He draws one of the worst pitching matchups on the board, as the Tigers are ranked fourth in wOBA (.328) and tenth in strikeout rate (19.2%) against right-handed pitching. He’s an easy avoid tonight in Detroit.
Pitcher Rating:38.4
Shane Greene (FD: $7300, DK: $6000)
Pitching Stats:
2015: SIERA: 4.34 — K Rate: 14.7% — K/9: 5.36 — BB Rate: 6.8% — FB Rate: 28.6% — HR/FB: 5.0%
2014: SIERA: 3.41 — K Rate: 23.5% — K/9: 9.27 — BB Rate: 8.4% — FB Rate: 28.3% — HR/FB: 12.7%
Milwaukee Brewers vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.299 (Rank: 23)
Strikeout Rate: 22.0% (Rank: 26)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.72 (Rank: 25)
Analysis: Greene’s numbers have taken a big hit (pun) this season. His SIERA and fly-ball rate are both up, while his strikeout rate is way down. He struck out 23.5% of the batters that he faced last season and that number is all the way down to 14.7% this season. The Brewers’ offense has been cold to start the season, but their ISO has been much better in the last few weeks of play. Greene offers more risk than reward tonight against Milwaukee.

2014 vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.410 — ISO: 0.179 — wRC+: 164
Analysis: Lind has been the one consistent hitter in the Brewers’ lineup. He has to be happy that his teammates have finally started to join him. He has a .418 wOBA and a .280 ISO against right-handed pitching. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against Shane Greene, who has given up a .364 wOBA to left-handed hitters since the start of 2014.

2014 vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.295 — ISO: 0.074 — wRC+: 84
Analysis: The right-handed bats in the Tigers’ lineup are also in play tonight, but they are a bit too expensive for their matchup against Kyle Lohse. Gose is considerably cheaper and he actually draws the better matchup, as Lohse gives up a higher wOBA to left-handed hitters. Gose has been a bright spot in the Tigers’ lineup this season with a .365 wOBA and a .150 ISO against right-handed pitching.

Pitching Stats:

Boston Red Sox vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.312 (Rank: 15)
Strikeout Rate: 16.5% (Rank: 3)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.99 (Rank: 2)
Analysis: Klein will be making his first career major league start tonight, as the Rangers take on the Red Sox in Fenway. Klein has made six appearances out of the bullpen this season, posting a 5.21 SIERA and a K/9 of 5.8. He’s a sizable underdog tonight against a Red Sox offense that 1. doesn’t strike out often and 2. is ranked second in P/PA this season. He can safely be avoided in all league formats.
Pitcher Rating:36.7
Joe Kelly (FD: $7000, DK: $4900)
Pitching Stats:
2015: SIERA: 4.16 — K Rate: 20.5% — K/9: 8.03 — BB Rate: 10.2% — FB Rate: 30.6% — HR/FB: 13.5%
2014: SIERA: 4.29 — K Rate: 15.9% — K/9: 6.17 — BB Rate: 10.1% — FB Rate: 23.7% — HR/FB: 11.4%
Texas Rangers vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.293 (Rank: 26)
Strikeout Rate: 20.9% (Rank: 19)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.82 (Rank: 11)
Analysis: It’s taken me a while, but I’m finally starting to believe in this new version of Joe Kelly that we are seeing. His velocity is up this season and consequently, so is his swinging strike rate and his strikeout rate. He has a 4.16 SIERA on the season with a K/9 of 8.0. He does struggle with his command at times, but he makes a terrific SP2 tonight on DraftKings. At $4,900, he could easily reach 4x his salary in terms of fantasy production. Kelly should get plenty of run support and he’s facing a Rangers’ offense that is ranked 26th in wOBA against right-handed pitching.

Shin-Soo Choo (FD: $3400, DK: $4700)
Position Eligibility: FD: OF — DK: OF

2014 vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.329 — ISO: 0.140 — wRC+: 105
Analysis: Joe Kelly is a reverse-splits pitcher, but that doesn’t always mean that we have to avoid taking hitters with the opposite handedness. Choo is batting .338 in the month of May with five home runs, eight doubles, and six walks. He finallly appears to be out of his slump and he gets a ballpark boost tonight in Fenway Park, which grades out as the fourth-best park for left-handed hitters.
Secondary Plays:

2014 vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.364 — ISO: 0.248 — wRC+: 131
Analysis: Ortiz was the obviously play at first base last night because he was priced under $3,000 on FanDuel. His price didn’t budge and he’ll likely have a 50%+ ownership level tonight in cash games. He has great power against right-handed pitching, posting a .405 wOBA and a .241 ISO this season. He also draws a terrific matchup against Phil Klein, who is making his first career major league start.

New York Mets vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.281 (Rank: 28)
Strikeout Rate: 19.7% (Rank: 13)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.82 (Rank: 14)
Analysis: Martinez has struggled in his last three starts, giving up a combined 16 earned runs in only 14 innings of work. His biggest problem has been his walks. He has now walked 11.5% of the batters that he has faced this season. If he can cut down on the walks tonight, he could have a strong outing against the Mets, who are ranked 28th in wOBA (.281) against right-handed pitching. The strikeout potential is always there with Martinez, as he has posted a K/9 of 9.7 this season.
Pitcher Rating:71.2
Bartolo Colon (FD: $8200, DK: $7700)
Pitching Stats:
2015: SIERA: 3.36 — K Rate: 20.3% — K/9: 7.36 — BB Rate: 0.5% — FB Rate: 41.9% — HR/FB: 11.9%
2014: SIERA: 3.75 — K Rate: 17.9% — K/9: 6.72 — BB Rate: 3.6% — FB Rate: 38.7% — HR/FB: 8.8%
St. Louis Cardinals vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.321 (Rank: 9)
Strikeout Rate: 18.9% (Rank: 7)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.68 (Rank: 27)
Analysis: Much like Anibal Sanchez last night, Colon was rocked by the Brewers in his last start. His numbers on the season are still impressive though, as he has a 3.36 SIERA with a K/9 of 7.4. Colon throws a ton of strikes, which allows him to pitch deep into games when he is producing outs. He draws a tough matchup tonight against the Cardinals though, as they are ranked ninth in wOBA (.321) and 7th in strikeout rate (18.9%) against right-handed pitching this season.

He draws a favorable matchup tonight against Carlos Martinez, who has given up a .370 wOBA to left-handed hitters since the start of 2014.

Atlanta Braves vs. RH Pitching: (2015)
wOBA: 0.315 (Rank: 12)
Strikeout Rate: 15.8% (Rank: 2)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.74 (Rank: 23)
Analysis: Odorizzi has pitched well this season with a 3.54 SIERA and a K/9 of 7.4. His strikeouts are down a bit this season, but he has still struck out 21% of the batters that he has faced. The one concern that I have with Odorizzi is his unsustainably low HR/FB rate of 3.4%. He’s going to give up some home runs eventually. Odorizzi deserves consideration tonight against the Braves, but his strikeout potential is somewhat limited. Atlanta has the second-lowest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season.
Pitcher Rating:73.1
Williams Perez (FD: $5800, DK: $4600)
Pitching Stats:
2015: SIERA: 8.10 — K Rate: 15.4% — K/9: 7.71 — BB Rate: 30.8% — FB Rate: 14.3% — HR/FB: 100.0%

wOBA: 0.303 (Rank: 19)
Strikeout Rate: 20.5% (Rank: 18)
Pitches per Plate Appearance: 3.91 (Rank: 5)
Analysis: Perez will be making his first major league start tonight. In five starts at the Triple-A level this season, he posted a 3.13 FIP with a K/9 of 7.0. He has since been called up and has seen two appearances out of the bullpen that didn’t go too well. There is too much uncertainty surrounding Perez tonight and he can safely be avoided against the Rays.

Analysis: Kiermaier is one of those players that always seems to suck us in with a big game and then let us down right after that. He played well last night and he should bat leadoff again tonight against the rookie Williams Perez. Kiermaier is cheap, he provides good speed at the top of the order, and he has posted a .352 wOBA against right-handed pitching since the start of 2014.

Analysis: Anderson has very average stats, but he does draw a favorable matchup tonight. On the season, Anderson has a 4.05 SIERA with a K/9 of 6.9. He draws a favorable matchup tonight against the Marlins, who are ranked 25th in wOBA (.294) and 23rd in strikeout rate (21.4%) against right-handed pitching this season. This is a matchup that he should be able to pitch well in and Vegas has installed the Diamondbacks as favorites (-131). He’s a decent tournament play tonight.

Analysis: Phelps has been a serviceable starter for the Marlins this season, posting a 4.25 SIERA and a K/9 of 6.6. The Diamondbacks don’t take many pitches, as they are ranked 28th in P/PA this season. That said, Phelps is not a pitcher that is on my radar tonight. He’s a small underdog against the Diamondbacks, who own a very capable offense.

Miami
Giancarlo Stanton (FD: $4500, DK: $5500)
Position Eligibility: FD: OF — DK: OF
2015 vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.368 — ISO: 0.302 — wRC+: 131
2014 vs. RH Pitching: wOBA: 0.391 — ISO: 0.262 — wRC+: 150
Analysis: Stanton is a bit too cheap on FanDuel tonight. Even though the matchup isn’t ideal, it’s not terrible either. Since the start of 2014, Chase Anderson has given up a .330 wOBA to right-handed hitters. Stanton has always had good power against right-handed pitching and he has already racked up 19 extra-base hits (12 home runs) this season.
