Happy Thursday! Major League Baseball has 6 games on tap for this evening’s slate, beginning at 6:40 p.m. ET with the White Sox and the Guardians.
As always, it’s important to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers. The heat wave across the country is still in full effect, with the forecast temperature near 100 degrees in Cleveland, Atlanta, and Kansas City for Thursday.
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Thursday, July 2nd!
Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, July 2nd
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Thursday, July 2nd:
- Junior Caminero Over/Under 0.5 Hitter Walks
- Sam Antonacci Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Kyle Tucker Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Junior Caminero OVER 0.5 Hitter Walks (+190, bet365)
It’s quite possible that the league (and the Royals specifically) have seen enough of Caminero swinging the bat for the time being. Caminero has homered in each of his last 6 games, including both of the team’s first 2 games of this series against Kansas City. Stephen Kolek throws a lot of strikes, but he might not be long for this game. It’s more than possible we see Caminero get pitched around in a key spot later in this contest.
Sam Antonacci OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-128, DraftKings)
Since the beginning of June, Antonacci is hitting .326 with a 171 wRC+. His contact-quality metrics during that span aren’t overwhelming, but he swings at good pitches and has good barrel control, which has led to good batted-ball outcomes. Slade Cecconi has struggled to a 4.28 FIP and 1.39 WHIP across the platoon in 2026. This is good value with Antonacci leading off on a hot day in Cleveland.
Kyle Tucker OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+115, BetMGM)
Following a strong start to the 2026 campaign, the wheels have really fallen off of the proverbial bus in recent weeks for Randy Vasquez. Since May 20, he owns a dreadful 7.34 ERA, 11.02 xERA, and 2.02 WHIP across 30.2 innings of work. He has allowed a tremendous amount of quality contact in that span, and is missing fewer bats than we have ever seen in his big league career. Tucker has been a big disappointment thus far in Los Angeles, but he’s still a hitter who understands the zone well. Following consecutive hitless games, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Tucker have a better showing.
