Playbook

There are 5 evening contests on Thursday’s MLB schedule, beginning at 7:15 p.m. ET with the Blue Jays against the Braves.

It could be a fun night of action, with extremely hitter-friendly forecasts across the league. The weather in Chicago is particularly conducive to offense, with the temperature near 90 degrees and winds blowing straight out to center field. As always, make sure to keep an eye on the MLB weather report before committing to any wagers.

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Thursday, June 4th!

Best MLB Player Props for Thursday, June 4th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 7:15 PM ET on Thursday, June 4th:

Justin Wrobleski OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-131, Novig)

Wrobleski has certainly been outperforming his peripherals early in 2026, with his 2.87 ERA being nearly a full run better than his 3.85 xERA. Nevertheless, he throws a lot of strikes, he doesn’t allow too much quality contact, and his ability to get quick outs has allowed him to consistently work deep into games.

Manager Dave Roberts has been vocal this season about wanting to avoid stressing his arm barn unnecessarily. If Wrobleski is remotely effective this evening, he should be given every opportunity to get through 6 frames.

Cam Smith OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+128, DraftKings)

Smith has been heating up of late with a 174 wRC+ and .318 batting average in his last 25 plate appearances. During that stretch, he’s nearly walked more than he has struck out. His 11.1% barrel rate and 50.0% hard-hit rate in that span are both well above the league average. Smith isn’t in a great spot to drive in runs (he is in the 6-hole tonight), but the matchup is palatable, and he’s capable of covering this number by himself even if those around him in the Houston lineup don’t offer much assistance.

Yordan Alvarez OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-135, DraftKings)

Jared Jones hasn’t looked particularly sharp since returning from injury. He had respectable numbers in 18.2 innings in the minor leagues, but he struggled mightily in his return to the MLB mound last week. Jones was particularly vulnerable against LHB, allowing a pair of home runs and a .538 batting average. Yordan Alvarez enters play on Thursday with a 187 wRC+ and 1.059 OPS against RHP in 2026. This is good value for him to make a positive contribution at the plate.
