MLB Player Props for Tuesday, 5/19: Best Bets & Predictions Today

What kind of performances can we expect from James Wood, Luis Garcia Jr., and Jose Tena? Follow along as our MLB betting analyst, Nick Galaida, breaks down three of his favorite MLB prop bets for Tuesday, May 19, 2026. All 30 MLB teams are scheduled to be in action as part of Tuesday’s 15-game slate. The Braves and Marlins got the ball rolling earlier this afternoon in Miami, but there are still 14 games to get underway as of this writing, which means plenty of betting opportunities still on the board!
The MLB weather report is showing some great hitter spots for today’s games, with temperatures in the 90s in Philadelphia, Washington, and New York. It could be a fun Dinger Tuesday for anyone participating in the FanDuel promotion!
Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Tuesday, May 19th!
Best MLB Player Props for Tuesday, May 19th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Tuesday, May 19th:
- James Wood Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Luis Garcia Jr. Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Jose Tena Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
James Wood OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120, Hard Rock)
Nolan McLean has a fastball velocity that has been declining consistently in recent starts – from 97.1 mph on May 2 to 96.2 mph on May 8, to 95.4 mph on May 14. Tonight, McLean will be on only 4 days’ rest, which further reduces the likelihood that we see his velocity come back to early season levels this evening.
Wood has been mashing RHP this year to the tune of a 162 wRC+ and .954 OPS. This is good value for Wood to make a positive impact at the plate this evening.
Luis Garcia Jr. OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-121, DraftKings)
Garcia doesn’t have significant pop in his bat, but he makes a lot of contact, and he runs well. Hitting behind Wood and in front of Jose Tena, Garcia should have opportunities to drive in runs and score tonight if he’s able to find his way on base.
It’s also worth noting that New York’s arm barn is in poor shape, which could put Garcia in some favorable matchups in the latter frames tonight.
Jose Tena OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+110, BetMGM)
Tena has been one of the more overlooked players in baseball early this season. His numbers aren’t eye-popping, but he’s added considerable bat speed, which has led to a notable increase in contact-quality metrics such as barrel% and hard-hit%. On a warm night, he could be a threat to do some damage at the plate against Nolan McLean, who is on shorter rest than he is used to.
