Wednesday’s 15-game MLB slate features 7 afternoon contests, giving fans and bettors plenty of opportunities to get in on the action.

The most challenging part of today’s slate is likely to be deciphering the MLB weather report. We have already seen the Rays and Guardians game get delayed due to rain. There are similar concerns in a number of spots across the country. As always, be sure to keep an eye on the forecast before committing to any wagers!

Below, you can find three of my favorite picks for Wednesday, April 29th!

Best MLB Player Props for Wednesday, April 29th

Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 2:35 PM ET on Wednesday, April 29th:

Drew Rasmussen OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-155, DraftKings)

Today’s game between the Rays and Guardians was scheduled for a 1:10 p.m. ET first pitch but will be delayed due to rain in the area. This is good news for Rasmussen, who has completed 5 innings in 4 of his 5 outings this season. The lone outlier from that sample was a game against the Pirates, in which he was removed from the game due to a weather delay in the 4th inning.

Assuming there are no weather concerns with a late start, Rasmussen should be given every opportunity to get through 5 innings in this spot. Cleveland’s offense ranks 25th in OPS, 24th in ISO, and 25th in wRC+ against RHP during the last 14 days. This line would be more appropriately priced at over/under 15.5 outs recorded.

Elmer Rodriguez OVER 14.5 Outs Recorded (-167, DraftKings)

Rodriguez is one of the more MLB-ready pitching prospects in the sport. He posted a 2.58 ERA, 2.47 FIP, and 1.07 WHIP across 150 innings in the minor leagues last season. Prior to being recalled for today’s start against the Rangers, Rodriguez had delivered a 1.27 ERA, 3.26 FIP, and 0.89 WHIP in 4 starts to begin 2026.

Rodriguez doesn’t have significant platoon splits. He can induce contact on the ground and miss bats – a high-floor skill set for any pitcher. Texas has been a league-average offense against RHP in recent weeks. Rodriguez has completed 5 innings in each of his minor league starts this year and has been stretched out to as many as 22 batters faced. He should be given every opportunity to get through 5 innings this afternoon.

Cristopher Sanchez OVER 17.5 Outs Recorded (-183, DraftKings)

There are some weather concerns in Philadelphia this evening, but if there are no in-game delays, it’s difficult to see a scenario in which Sanchez doesn’t complete 6 innings. The Giants offense ranks 24th in wRC+ against southpaws during the last 14 days, and they aren’t the most patient lineup, either.

Sanchez struggled in extremely hitter-friendly weather conditions at Wrigley Field in his most recent outing, but he’s faced 24+ batters in each of his last 5 turns through the Philadelphia rotation. Sanchez has endured some poor luck on balls in play of late, but if we see some positive regression in that regard, he should be able to record 18 outs on Wednesday night.
