Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Wednesday, May 20th:
- JJ Wetherholt Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Alec Burleson Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Nolan Gorman Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
JJ Wetherholt OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120, BetMGM)
BETMGMPittsburgh’s starter, Carmen Mlodzinski, has struggled mightily across the platoon early in the 2026 season. That is a direct consequence of not having an MLB-caliber fastball.
Wetherholt has a 139 wRC+ against RHP this season. This is great value on him to do some damage against a subpar hurler.
Alec Burleson OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-134, DraftKings)
DRAFTKINGSBurleson enters play with a 159 wRC+ against RHP this season. This is a great matchup for him facing Carmen Mlodzinski, who has allowed a .481 batting average on his fastballs across the platoon this season. Burleson is also a good off-speed hitter, which should help him put together some competitive at-bats if he sees a high rate of splitters too.
Nolan Gorman OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (+120, BetMGM)
BETMGMGorman doesn’t have the impressive statistics that some of his other teammates do against RHP this season, but he does have strong numbers against the fastball, which could benefit him tonight if he’s able to lay off of the off-speed pitches he sees down in the zone. At plus money, this is a worthwhile risk in a good matchup.
