Monday’s MLB slate features 12 games, beginning at 6:40 p.m. ET. Of course, plenty of games means plenty of betting opportunities as well, which should have bettors excited for the beginning of the new week of action.
As always, be sure to monitor our MLB starting lineups page throughout the day, as unexpected changes in the batting order can result in value opportunities in the betting and DFS markets.
Another reminder – it’s not a bad beat or unlucky if you bet a player to hit a home run and his fly ball dies on the warning track because it’s 40 degrees with the wind blowing in! Before locking in any bets, use our MLB weather page, curated by Chief Meteorologist, Kevin Roth. There are countless edges to be found if we make the right reads on possible rain delays and great hitting weather, just to name a few. Taking a look at the weather report can save us from a bad bet that otherwise looks good on the surface.

Best MLB Player Props for Monday, May 19th
Here are my top player prop bets for today, with the first pitch scheduled for 6:40 PM ET on Monday, May 19th:
- Luis Castillo Over/Under 17.5 Outs Recorded
- Nolan Schanuel Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
- Yoan Moncada Over/Under 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs
Luis Castillo UNDER 17.5 Outs Recorded (+146, Caesars)
Castillo has recorded 18 outs in 3 of his last 4 turns through the rotation, but he’s still leaving a lot to be desired with his performances on the bump. Even during his recent run of success, he’s allowing more barrels and hard contact than the league-average pitcher. He’s also not generating many swings and misses in the zone, nor has he been particularly efficient. Castillo gets a good matchup against a light-hitting White Sox offense, but any sign of trouble in the 6th inning could lead to a quick hook, with the Mariners having a completely rested arm barn entering the new week.
Nolan Schanuel OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-120, BetMGM)
J.T. Ginn is having a lot of trouble across the platoon to begin 2025, with a ghastly 9.72 FIP and 1.74 WHIP in an admittedly small sample size. He will have to contend with Schanuel, who has been heating up of late. Since May 7, Schanuel owns a 160 wRC+ with 8 runs scored and 4 RBIs in 10 games. The conditions are very hitter friendly in Sacramento, and the matchup can’t get more favorable, facing a contact-oriented starter in Ginn. Schanuel should be able to make a positive impact offensively this evening.
Yoan Moncada OVER 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBIs (-105, BetMGM)
Moncada has quietly been swinging a good stick since coming off of the injured list, posting a 151 wRC+ with 3 homers and 8 RBIs across his last 11 games. He draws a favorable matchup against J.T. Ginn in a hitter-friendly ballpark. Ginn has been allowing a lot of contact in the zone and a lot of hard contact in the air, both of which position Moncada for a good night of production at the dish.
