Salary Sleepers: 07/28/2010

It’s a Roy Halla-Day. That means you’re either going with him and some no-names, or your balancing like a triple beam. Either way, you are going to need at least one sleeper. With that being said, welcome to the first edition of RotoGrinders Salary Sleepers! The RotoGrinders staff has tested the lineups across all tracked sites for Wednesday, July 28th, and here are our top Value Picks:
Brian Duensing (SP/RP, Twins)
Duensing is 3-1 with a 1.69 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP, and despite being owned in only 7% of Yahoo Leagues is a great pick for the day. He is going against a struggling KC that he has faired well against in the past, giving up only 1 HR to Wilson Betemit. For his value, he is a must-play today in our eyes.
Koyie Hill (C, Cubs)
With Geovanny Soto very Questionable to play today, Koyie Hill could prove to be an extremely valuable start on Wednesday. He can usually be found at the bottom of all Salary lists, and he is going against the 6+ ERA of Bud Norris. This is a deep sleeper worth keeping an eye on up to gametime, but make sure that Soto is out of the lineup first.
Jim Thome (DH, Twins)
Thome is 9 for 26 with 3 Homers, 4 RBIs, a .346 Average, and a 1.241 OPS vs. Brian Bannister. He is always a risky play, but you have to think the Twins will let him get his ABs today with his track record vs. Bannister.
Michael Cuddyer (RF, Twins)
Cuddyer is 9 for 22 with 2 Homers, 5 RBIs, a .409 Average, and a 1.098 OPS vs. Brian Bannister. Cuddyer is more highly priced than most players you will find on this list, but his matchup is just too tempting today. Check out the site by site breakdown below, and grab him if you can fit him in as a mid-tier sleeper that could perform at an elite caliber today.

Notes:
- The first value listed per site is the cost of that player. The second number listed is the cost of the most expensive player at that position for the same day.
- For Fantasy Factor, we would only consider deploying Cuddyer and Thome, but would only give each a standard ranking or maybe a 2x factor if you’re feeling frisky.
