The UFC needed a pay-per-view headliner, and once again Alex “Poatan” Pereira has stepped up on a relatively quick turnaround to defend his title against fellow striking ace Khalil Rountree, Jr. The card is stacked with talented fighters, former champions, and contenders looking to take the important next step forward in their division. Let’s begin with the main card opener, a women’s bantamweight tilt that will set the stage for the women’s bantamweight title fight in the co-main event of the evening.

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown for UFC 307 – Pereira vs. Rountree
Kayla Harrison $9,800 vs. Ketlen Vieira $6,400
Fight Odds: -1100 Harrison vs. +650 Vieira
Weight Class: W135lb. (Women’s Bantamweight)
Kayla Harrison is looking to break down the doors of the women’s bantamweight division, and she is willing to run through ranked competition in order to do so. She bested Holly Holm easily in her UFC debut, bashing her on the floor before securing the submission finish. Now she is back in short order to take on the well-rounded Brazilian jiu jitsu and judo black belt Ketlen “Fenomeno” Vieira. This is one of the highest level judo pairings the UFC can make right now.
Ketlen Vieira has been one of my favorite underdog bets in the women’s bantamweight division, as she was taking on elder stateswomen like Holly Holm and Miesha Tate, but she failed to finish both of those contests despite having five rounds to work. Vieira is technically skilled, but she doesn’t seem to be comfortable hurting people, and her confidence was badly diminished by a devastating first-round knockout loss against Irene Aldana.
Vieira has struggled to separate herself from her opponents, as evidenced by her unanimous decision loss to Yana Santos despite posting more than 8.5 minutes of control time. She has also won 3 of her 8 UFC wins via split decision. If Vieira could defend all of Harrison’s takedown attempts, I would consider her a live underdog, but she is likely to end up on bottom early, and Harrison has the strength and technique to drop damaging strikes from top position.
Prediction: Kayla Harrison defeats Ketlen Vieira via TKO (Elbows)
Kevin Holland $8,300 vs. Roman Dolidze $7,900
