UFC 314 is touching down in Miami for the deepest pay-per-view offering so far in 2025. There are 8 prelim matchups and a can’t-miss main card with 5 high-quality bouts worthy of our attention. I see some live underdogs and some opportunities for high-scoring violence, so we should have plenty of interesting angles to discuss.

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC 314 – Volkanovski vs. Lopes

Nora Cornolle ($8,600) vs. Hailey Cowan ($7,600)

Fight Odds: -180 Cornolle vs. +140 Cowan
Weight Class: W115lb. (Women’s Bantamweight)

Nora Cornolle (2-1 UFC) has only lost to one woman in her career, a proven UFC fighter in Jacqueline Cavalcanti (4-0 UFC). Cornolle lost on the regional scene against Cavalcanti in her professional debut, but she was able to narrow the gap from a unanimous decision to a split decision in their UFC rematch. Cornolle is 35 years of age, but she is a spirited fighter, she brings the violence, and she has a UFC knockdown and TKO stoppage already on her ledger. Both of her UFC victories are against opponents with a winning record.

Hailey Cowan (0-1 UFC) has been out of the octagon for two years, she has pulled out of three scheduled bouts due to illness or injury, and her ticket to the UFC was a close split decision on DWCS. Cowan debuted in the promotion in April of 2023 and lost a unanimous decision against Jamey-Lyn Horth (2-2 UFC) and absorbed 76 significant strikes. She also conceded more than 6 minutes of control time against Claudia Leite (9-3 Pro) and arguably lost her Contender Series bout. Between the health struggles, the vulnerabilities in multiple phases of fighting, and the lack of activity, I find Cowan extremely difficult to trust.

Cowan’s upside in this matchup is that she may be able to get takedowns and control time, but if she is stuck on the feet with Cornolle, I expect her to be taking damage, and I don’t trust her to react well under fire. Cornolle’s entire UFC career has taken place during Cowan’s absence from the octagon, so I will trust the active fighter to be better prepared for 15 minutes of violence.
