The UFC is bringing the octagon to Azerbaijan for the first time as Baku plays host to a striker’s delight in the main event. Former light heavyweight champion Jamahal “Sweet Dreams” Hill will look to reassert himself in the division after a pair of setbacks against fellow champions Alex Pereira and Jiri Prochazka. He is taking on a dangerous opponent in “The War Horse” Khalil Rountree, a recent challenger to the light heavyweight throne who gave Alex Pereira problems in the early rounds before crumbling under the stone hands of Poatan. The card also features a number of Azerbaijani athletes looking to represent well for their home country.

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC Fight Night – Hill vs. Rountree Jr.
Hamdy Abdelwahab ($8,600) vs. Mohammed Usman ($7,600)
Fight Odds: -178 Abdelwahab vs. +138 Usman
Weight Class: 265lb. (Heavyweight)
Hamdy Abdelwahab (1-0 UFC; 1NC) is a former Egyptian national wrestling team member and an undefeated professional fighter. He tested positive for performance enhancing drugs after defeating Don’Tale Mayes in a sloppy UFC debut, but he came back after serving a two-year suspension and nabbed a close decision against Jamal Pogues (2-2 UFC). Hamdy has some power in his hands, but he is very basic on the feet and is liable to death gas if pushed.
Mohammed Usman (3-2 UFC) has been on hard times in his recent UFC run, losing back-to-back decisions against Thomas Petersen (2-2 UFC) and Mick Parkin (4-1 UFC). Usman has been outlanded on significant strikes in all of his UFC fights, he has just a 60% takedown defense rate, and his best career win by far is Jake Collier (5-9 UFC).
This is the definition of a sloppy heavyweight fight. The line should be close because Usman has more experience, and he is a promotional “A-Side” with a big following and a brother who was a UFC champion, but Hamdy has the better wrestling pedigree and more upside for improvements.
Prediction: Hamdby Abdelwahab defeats Mohammed Usman via SDEC
Tagir Ulanbekov ($9,300) vs. Azat Maksum ($6,900)
