The UFC has been absent from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada for the last 5 years, but the octagon returns with a 14-fight slate sure to captivate MMA fans across the globe. Canada has long been a premier market for the promotion, boasting some of the most vocal, diehard fans in the space. Unlike the typical Apex Center lineup, the fight card features a 3-headed monster of UFC superstars, including Rose Namajunas, Brandon Moreno, and Derrick Lewis (each with more than 2 million followers!).
There are action-packed bouts, a wide variety of weight classes being featured, and plenty of potential buy-low spots on the board. Let’s begin with the main card action, starting in the welterweight division.

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC Fight Night – Moreno vs. Albazi
Marc-Andre Barriault ($8,900) vs. Dustin Stoltzfus ($7,300)
Fight Odds: -205 vs. +164 Stoltzfus
Weight Class: Men’s 185lb. (Middleweight)
Marc-Andre Barriault hasn’t had the best luck fighting at home despite his Canadian heritage. He lost a narrow split decision against the highly regarded Chris Curtis at UFC 297 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Barriault tried to bounce back against Joe Pyfer, but he was knocked out brutally in the first frame. Now he is entering this bout off of back-to-back losses, and it’s hard to know where his confidence will be. Barriault has a respectable 5-7-1 promotional record, but he has failed to distinguish himself as more than a gatekeeper.
Dustin Stoltzfus has been a tough out for a number of UFC middleweights, and he has a well-rounded MMA approach. He is very selective with his strikes on the feet, he looks to secure takedowns and control time, and he can spring a submission every once in a while. Stoltzfus is a dreadful 2-5 in the UFC, but his losses are against very solid opponents like Abus Magomedov, Rodolfo Vieira, Gerald Meerschaert, and Bruno Ferreira. If Stoltzfus had a reliable 15 minutes of gas, he might be able to stay safe and keep M.A.B off of him, but the longer the fight drags on, the more likely it becomes that Stoltzfus will self-immolate again down the stretch as he did against GM3 and Rodolfo Vieira in the 3rd round. M.A.B never stops building his offense. As long as he is conscious, he will be looking to advance with strikes and finish the fight.
Prediction: Marc-Andre Barriault defeats Dustin Stoltzfus via Rd. 3/DEC
