UFC Fight Night is a patchwork event with a lot of short notice fights and moving pieces. Now that the weigh-ins are behind us, these fights are official, and we can begin breaking down all the action. Let’s begin with the main card opener in the middleweight division, as heavy hitters Cody Brundage and Abdul Razak Alhassan square off with future employment opportunities on the line.

Abdul Razak Alhassan $8,500 vs. Cody Brundage $7,700
Fight Odds: -175 Alhassan vs. +145 Brundage
Weight Class: 185lb. (Middleweight)
Both Abdul Razak Alhassan and Cody Brundage have a habit of winning UFC fights early or struggling to get their hand raised in extended contests. Alhassan has seemed to make progress towards improving his cardio in recent years by training at elevation, but he has still failed to produce any professional wins that were not quick knockouts.
Brundage has also failed to produce a single UFC win via decision, but he has diversified his wins with submission finishes as well as knockouts. Brundage has a lackluster all-around game, and he doesn’t seem to have the tools to win grueling, competitive fights. He is an opportunistic finisher and little beyond that.
Alhassan is slowly aging out of the division, but this should be a winnable matchup for him. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see him earn his first decision victory.
