The combat sports leader is winding down for their 6-week winter hibernation. After a tremendous UFC 323 offering, the winner of this week’s main event could put themselves into immediate title contention. Flyweights will take center stage as Manel “Starboy” Kape and Brandon “Raw Dawg” Royval look to assert themselves as deserving challengers to Joshua Van’s recently acquired throne. With the former champion Alexandre Pantoja out for the foreseeable future with an elbow injury, the flyweight title picture has become wide open. Tatsuro Taira is the clubhouse leader to fight next for the belt, but the “Raw Dawg” could complicate things if he is able to earn his third win in as many main events.

MMA DFS and Betting Breakdown: UFC Fight Night – Royval vs. Kape

Tereza Bleda ($8,300) vs. Jamey-Lyn Horth ($7,900)

Fight Odds: -156 Bleda vs. +122 Horth
Weight Class: W125lb. (Women’s Flyweight)

Tereza Bleda (1-1 UFC) is making her long-awaited return to the women’s flyweight division after a hiatus of more than 2 years. The last time we saw Bleda, she was dominating Gabriella Fernandes (3-2 UFC) on the mat and pursuing a finish until the final horn. Bleda was stopped with a spinning head kick in her UFC debut, but her opponent, Natalia Silva (7-0 UFC), has since established herself as a force to be reckoned with and a potential title challenger. Bleda has spent her time away dealing with nagging injuries, and she could present the best version of herself to date if ring rust is not a factor.

Jamey-Lyn Horth (3-2 UFC) really impressed me on her run through the regional scene, but she has looked like a much less dynamic fighter since coming to the UFC. Horth was 5-0 as a professional with 5 wins via stoppage, including an impressive submission over Mayra Cantuaria for the LFA Championship, halting her opponent’s 6-fight win streak in the process. Since coming to the big show, Horth has gone to decision in 5 of 5 appearances, and she split a pair of split decisions. Horth’s only wins against true flyweights were against the lowest-level girls in the division like Hailey Cowan (0-2 UFC) and Ivana Petrovic (1-3 UFC). Her only decisive UFC win was against the small-for-a-strawweight former stripper, Vanessa Demopoulos.

Horth seems like a fighter who peaked too soon (or arrived in the UFC too late, depending on your perspective). Bleda feels like a fighter who is still several years away from reaching her peak, but what she has put on tape should be enough to defeat a limited opponent like Horth. Horth has been taken down by every full-sized UFC opponent she has fought, and Bleda is among the most physical and talented fighters that Horth has faced. Give me the bigger, younger athlete to return to the win column. I wouldn’t be stunned if she is the first fighter to finish the tough and game Jamey-Lyn Horth.

Prediction: Tereza Bleda defeats Jamey-Lyn Horth via Rd. 2/3/DEC

Guilherme Pat ($8,600) vs. Allen Frye ($7,600)
