The UFC has had a busy weekend in Macau, running a trio of events showcasing rising Asian fighters. After two Road to UFC events that appeal exclusively to hardcore fans, the cherry on top for more casual fans is a card headlined by China’s own “Kung Fu Kid” Song Yadong against the former undisputed flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo. Throughout the card, we will be treated to violent matchups, highly motivated debutants, and local fighters looking to announce themselves to the international UFC audience. The card will begin with a striker vs. grappler matchup in the women’s strawweight division, as Jaqueline Amorim looks to extend her 100% career finish rate at the expense of Thailand’s lone UFC fighter, Loma Lookboonmee.

UFC Fight Night – Song vs. Figueiredo: MMA DFS Picks & Betting Breakdown
Jaqueline Amorim ($8,200) vs. Loma Lookboonmee ($8,000)
Fight Odds: -118 Amorim vs. -108 Lookboonmee
Weight Class: W115lb. (Women’s Strawweight)

Jaqueline Amorim (4-2 UFC) enters this bout after a disappointing performance against Mizuki Inoue (3-1 UFC) last October. Prior to that fight, she was riding a 4-fight win and finish streak that included 3 submissions and a TKO3. Amorim is a world-class operator on the mat with nasty submission abilities and half-decent ground and pound. Her drawback as a fighter is that she has mediocre striking offense, poor striking defense, and her cardio tapers off over the course of 15 minutes.
Loma Lookboonmee (7-3 UFC) is an excellent striker representing Bang Tao Muay Thai. She is highly flexible, she has an educated clinch game, and she is sneaky with kicks, knees, and elbows. The struggle for Lookboonmee historically has been her mediocre wrestling and grappling. She shows just a 68% takedown defense rate over a 10-fight UFC sample, and she has conceded 14 takedowns and 6 submission attempts.
Amorim has taken down or submitted every UFC opponent she has faced, she has attempted 14 submissions in 6 UFC appearances, and she is the most credentialed BJJ player Lookboonmee has ever fought. Amorim could fumble this fight if she fails to achieve grappling positions or experiences a serious cardio dump, but she should have a massive advantage once this fight hits the floor. Unlike previous opponents who had success wrestling Lookboonmee, Amorim has a 100% finish rate in her wins and world-class submission abilities. If Lookboonmee wins, I expect it will be due to her ability to create damage and sustain pace in rounds 2 and 3.
Prediction: Jaqueline Amorim defeats Loma Lookboonmee via SUB
Rodrigo Vera ($8,300) vs. Kangjie Zhu ($7,900)
